17 years ago people couldn't imagine traveling again.

17 years ago people didn't want to go outside again.

17 years ago......

At the time could we imagine 17 years later?

Could we imagine a time when the day of fear and pain would be history.

Could we imagine going through the airport like normal (well normal plus TSA).

Could we imagine the forefront of our conversation being about sports, petty political squabbles, and tech.

I couldn't.

Yet here we are now.

Here I am now.

I was there when the 2nd plane ran into the World Trade Center. The wheel of one of the planes was right in front of my office building. I remember seeing people jumping. Getting caught in the debre when the second building came down. Running for the Staten Island Ferry Terminal. Sitting worried about my wife not knowing where she is. She used to work for company where the plane crashed into. Just took a new job 3 blocks away 3 weeks earlier. Walking the streets covered in dirt and debre from the towers. Not able to see my wife until 6PM. Lost so many friends that day. Although I do not live in NY anymore I still find myself looking up every time I hear a plane flying low.
