2.1 On recently purchased phone ?

So a buddy of mine purchased a Droid a little over 2 weeks ago
Last night I just got update so I asked him today if he got it and
his reply was he has had it since he bought the phone so I asked
2.1 right not 2.01 he said yes 2.1

I read these forums a good amount and have not heard of another person
who has purchased the phone 2 weeks ago that already had 2.1 on it
just wondering your guys and gals opinion on this

People CONSTANTLY post on here that they have 2.0.1, not realizing they're not even typing 2.1, thinking they have 2.1, so it's probable your friend is making the same error.

I looked at his phone it has 2.1 on it and he says he has not had any update
I had trouble believing it so I asked here
