2.1 update 1 gallery doesn't load all pictures

Received the OTA 2.1 yesterday. Replaced the Gallary icon and noticed that only about half of my photos are visible. The others are still on the phone's memory card, I can see them on my PC when I mount the phone but they appear as empty boxes in Gallary. I waited an hour hoping it was just a time thing but no more photos appeared. Also noticed that the pinch function is very slow.

Any ideas how to fix.

Thanks.

I also tried to delete the photos that did not show in Gallary and replace them with smaller jpegs (the originals were jpegs too but over 5 mbs). Now I can see only 2 out of 21. Can't seem to find a common reason why this is happening.

I've noticed the gallery doesn't refresh very quickly (ie. new photos take a minute or two to appear in the "Camera" folder). Also, it doesn't necessarily display the same way every time. If I enter the gallery through my camera app, the organization of photos is different than if I enter through my Gallery shortcut. The sorting slider is visible sometimes, and not at others.

From a UI standpoint, I'm psyched about the look of the new gallery... but functionally, it leaves a lot to be desired. It's also extremely slow to load thumbnails and such. Step in the right direction, but it needs to be refined quite a bit.

it took 2 power cycles for my gallery to work (not battery pulls). hope yours get online soon.

I tried rebooting but it didn't work. It appears to take the smaller files but there is no consistancy. Is there a size limit per file?

I hope I'm not beating a dead horse to death with this but I can't figure why some picture of the copied Jpegs can be seen with Gallery and others, while on the SD card, cannot be viewed.

I have to believe that others have this same issue.

Thanks.

Might be formatting or partial corruption. Photoshop sometimes has this problem with one marker and other apps open a picture.

The new gallery definitely needs a couple of things.

1) A refresh button.
2) The ability to select which folders/Picasa albums to display.

I've also noticed that if I take a picture with the camera, it sometimes takes a while to show up in the gallery. In fact, I took one yesterday and looked for it this afternoon and it wasn't there. Went back to the Camera app, then back to Gallery again and it was there.

Strange.

I agree.

The puzzling thing is the ramdomness of those files you can see vs. the ones that come up blank.

There seems to be no consistant reason why some show and others do not.

I was looking at my Gallery, selected a few folders and deleted them. The images are still on the SD card but are 'Hidden'.

Discovered this after I connected phone to PC and looked at image properties.....

I can't change it from being Hidden.

I think this has something to do with Photoshop. I resaved the "hidden" images using the computer's basic Paint program and copied these to the Droid. They now show up in the Gallery.

I'm having a problem when I open the gallery it's empty and it says "there are no contents to display" reboot and sometimes it fixes it. About 90% of my pics are ones I took with the droid and have not been imported/exported or altered by photoshop.
