2.1 update poll

Guys, since this is a poll on 2.1 and whether or not you're going to stay rooted or go back to stock I'm going to let it stay up for another day. Keep on topic and I won't mess with it but if it gets to where you're just discussing if this is going to happen or who's got the update yet then I'll close it down. Fair enough?

Haven't rooted yet, I figured with 2.1 coming that shortly afterwards they will root that OTA, and then I'll make the jump to ROMS made or ported from that build.

Real Droidmodders that are non rooted never OTA. We get the update.zip and do it manually :icon_ devil:

Like most rooted users I'm already running ESE53. If there is anything different in the OTA update from the leaked version that's already out I'm sure Chevy will make a new ROM. Then I'll update. No way I could go back to stock. I'm too addicted to the customization that can be done on a rooted phone. No blue smoked glass theme with custom notification icons would make me a very sad Droid.

Please stay on topic. The question is whether or not you are going to go back to stock or keep your root. If you want to discuss anything else 2.1 then kindly take it to the news section, there is a huge thread on 2.1 there.

I'm NOT going to unroot for this, but I suppose it would be kind of cool to see what stock was like so I could appreciate my set up now.

I'm staying rooted. If there is anything in the official OTA that isn't already in my ROM I'm sure it will be there shortly. Happy for all the non-roots though, they have been waiting a long time.

Since the update is ere53, then ill probably stick with my current root. I was hoping that the OS would be optimized in recent weeks, then our faithful mooders could take that and add onto it. But since its the version we already have, i doubt any further optimizations will have been made. So unless they have made changes but kept the build number the same, ill stick with what i have.

I don't see a need to un-root and try this update out. Simply put if you are already rooted the many wonderful devs out there will see what this ROM has to offer above and beyond their custom ROMs. They will then add these cool neat features and drop a new ROM with the goods.

For those that are running stock this update is awesome news and I hope all goes well and runs well! In either case it is a win/win for the stock droids and rooted droids out there.

Rooted OVERCLOCKED Smoked. OVERCLOCKED will keep me where I am. Until Bugless Beast for the Official 2.1 release is released.

Overclocked and I'm actually running cooler than before! Not to mention faster and smoother too.

Me? I'll probably go back to stock for the 2.1 OTA. Don't get me wrong, I love my DroidMod/1ghz Droid, but I'm confident that 2.1 will be rooted eventually

Same here. One of the reasons why I un-rooted is the security hole fix (unknown if it was in UD 7.8 ROM) and I wanted to see if the rumors where true that Skype will come preloaded in.

I'm staying rooted, the way I see it is if there is something new and exciting it will make it's way into the rom's soon enough.

Side by side comparison will be nice.
Sure hope I will be able to root hers soon after, if the OTA is lacking. I would never hear the end of it!
