2015 suite of Android Devices: Who will be champion?

Yeah, but we're looking for your unbiased opinion. Base it off of the specs and features of the phones and how you think they'll sell, not how you feel about that particular company. ;)

Personally, I'm done with Samsung for a while, even when I go to upgrade the Nexus 6P that I haven't even received yet, but I still have to give them props for selling devices that people seem to love to get.

Granted, I'm done with them from a personal preference standpoint, not because I felt cheated by them, but still... :p

That's fair, I suppose I was going off topic a bit. I would have to say that the Moto:mad:.. X 2015 aka Style looks to be the top notch phone with its good specs and price tag. My only complaint about it would be going from AMOLED to LCD. A lot of people complained about the Moto X 2014 camera, but I managed to get some crazy good shots off of it thanks to consistent software updates, and it looks like the new Style will have both top-notch software and hardware. I'm curious to see what the battery life is going to be like with the 3000 mAh vs 1440p as well as Android Doze.

@supermandroid, you do raise a good point. Though I agree with @Jonny Kansas that last year's moto X is not this year's, you can not look at that stuff in a vacuum. If a company fails somewhere we tend to look to see if it is a trend or did the manufacturer fix it. Motorola had a trend of bad cameras that effected the dream Nexus 6 (Motorola), though they got it fixed this year, up until then there was always that "yeah but".

With Moto X going pure and outside of the carriers they no longer have anyone to get in their way or blame. So delayed updates, bugs, etc now fall squarely on Motorola.

V10 is here, HTC's phone has been revealed, BB Priv is available for pre-order, and the Droid Turbo 2 is weeks away.

Think we are are getting a clearer picture of how this year may turn out. I must say I am surprised with the love the 6P is getting and it could end up making it a tough choice for some.

Unfortunately for those wanting a smaller device, other than the s6 (which is light in the battery department), this is another year where smaller devices have smaller specs.

From what I see the Nexus P takes the cake from all of these phones. Nexus devices are typically not interesting to me since they have less features baked in and their cameras are usually lacking.

If I were to switch right now I would switch to the 6P. It has my vote for phone of the year.

That's what I'm still thinking. The rest of the phones are ho-hum imo.

2015 has been a great year for Android phones. Right now I am torn between the Moto X Pure and the soon to be released 2015 Droid, both seem like awesome phones. Thrn again....both new Nexus phones look really good...Samsung released some nice phones in 2015....choices...choices. The woes of an Android user, so many nice phones to pick from, we have it so bad. [emoji1]

This was the first year since 2009 that I haven't bought a new phone for myself. No significant improvements since last year's devices. Innovation is non-existant right now.

I want a waterproof phone that I don't have to charge for a week. My 3200mah battery lasts me 1/2 day because I'm a power user.

Manufacturers keep removing features one year and adding them back another year like look at our new options(removable batteries, microsd cards)! Screw that, I'm disappointed with cell phone manufacturers right now.

Did you want that in yellow or red?

I'll take red.

So this is what it is going to take to get a small screen phone around here?
What's with your little phone kick lately? Don't you still have the n5 along with the n6?

Because, I mean, I haven't held one in my hand, but the n6 is a beast. Every video of a 5.7" screen phone I see compared to it, there's a very noticeable size difference in the overall bodies.

The flip phone market is still huge. Even the smaller, original candybar phones sell like crazy. You don't even have to give up smartphone functionality either.

Weird. When I had the Nexus 5 I remember emailing Google to give us a nexus phablet. Looking at my note 2 I wanted the clean look of the nexus 5 on a note 2 frame.

Now I have my nexus 6 Im wanting to scale back.

The reality is I like a hearty choice market of phones. When it gets saturated one way or another it feels crowded. And I feel like Google and the market is reacting to the market rather than leading. If we react to the sudden love for sports cars and made all cars sports cars then soccer moms and people needing to haul stuff will not be served.

As far as for me, yes I have the nexus 5 and can swap out my sim and be good for a bit. But that would be like saying to someone who want a kb to dig out the old droid (except the nexus 5 is not that obsolete). Yeah we can did up the old droid but it would be nice to see the market not treat small phones like budget phones. Smaller shouldn't equal cheaper.
