4g data issues!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

gee,

I selected the rezound over the GN because I read about all the GN dropped data troubles. Where I used to work I had great 4G service while a coworker always had to keep his GN in 3G mode to avoid dropping data.

I've never had dropped data on my rezound, but now-a-days I am on WiFi almost the entire day. The past month I only used 0.5 GB of data because I have more access to WiFi. I am also using the latest ICS leak.

Sounds very strange that the GN works better than rezound on 4G when my experiences are the opposite. Perhaps things have changed.

I though it was just me, I've been having other problems but this is the most annoying! Usually a reboot will fix it for a while but 1) it takes about an hour to reboot this damn phone and 2) I shouldn't have to do this at all!

(I'm in Dallas, Texas my reception should be amazing according to a Verizon rep)

Same here' in Denton north of Dallas.

I'm under the impression that the 4g intermittent disconnect problems are not limited to the Rezound. I hope you'll come back and let us know if the Nexus really solves the problem.

Just wanted to let you know that the nexus has still had no issues after 3 days of hard use My buddy is still having his rezound 4g issue all the time. I'm so happy with this device! I'm missing my rezound less and less everyday!

I'm willing to bet it's a network/GB issue as well. The few times I get to use 4G (in the next town over) it never cuts out. It's always been rock solid and I'm running the 2nd ICS leak.

Iam concerned that switching phones is not the answer because I never had the issue until June, seven months after I got the phone. Verizon has offered me anything they have, but I think iam going to try to hold out for the update & see what happens. I still think its a network problem, but that does not explain why its not happening to everyone. For the gentleman who switched out for the nexus, iam glad its working out for you. Please keep us posted. Thank you. Grayson

Agree with loudram...think as long as 4g is being worked on the way it is there are going to be issues. I was playing.cards last night at a friend's house. We were all talking about our phones and they all have data drops here. Rezound, maxx and gnex. Pretty sure its the network. Depending on where you are you may or may not have issues. Some more than others.

The following contains pure speculation on my part.

Early this year every Verizon phone was having 4G issues. All except the HTC rezound.

Oodles of Motorola bionics being returned to Verizon. Samsung Galaxy Nexus owners complaining, and some returning their phone to Verizon several times.

Well I am speculating that Verizon has made some technical change to 4G LTE. Software updates are being installed in cell towers all over the country.

The worthless Galaxy Nexus whose owners had to keep in 3G mode for it to operate, suddenly find their phone can use 4G now.

But I speculate there is a catch. All the 4G phones need a radio firmware update. Every 4G phone has had a recent OTA due to this field 4G upgrade to cell phone towers.

well, except for the rezound as its ICS update has been delayed for several months.

I have the last leak installed. I really never lose data unless I am in a fringe area such as my home or at one other friends house. In most places I'm solid.

your phone works property, its the network that seems to be having the issues.

I have had the nexus since friday and have not had 1 issue. Just for the hell of it today(Tuesday) before I sent my rezound back I activated it just to see what what happen. And of course the 4G came on like usual but as soon as I tried to use the data the 4G cut off and of course did not default to 3G. To me that is first hand proof that it is NOT a network issue.

Is your Rezound running ICS? That is where most of us are thinking the network issue is. The phones that are running ICS aren't having problems. That includes the Rezounds that have ICS like mine. So it very well could be a network issue. Most of the phones that have had problems are running GB.

I am running the last leak and it was fine til about a week ago. Having a few drops here and there now. Also believe its the network.

I still think network as far as data& 4g for the reason that it did not start doing this until june & that is when most others started also. I had a nexus.for my second line & could not make a call in my home or anything, but that was when it first came so things could be different now. Iam sceptical of getting it as a replacement. Going to wait for ice & hope it comes soon otherwise I will go back to at&t who I was with for 12 years. They have offered any phone & to grandfather me back to unlimited data. Grayson.

Well, my Bionic was still having issues as of last week, which is why I now have a Rezound - unlike some of you guys, they only offered me a choice between the Rezound and some LG piece of junk that had garbage specs to replace the Bionic (after having tried 4 different Bionics in 3 weeks). So I picked the Rezound and guess what! Data drops!

I suspect it might be both network and software. The network is blinking out briefly and the Gingerbread phones have some tacked on crap driver for the radios that isn't kicking down to 3g properly when 4g cuts out. In short, we were sold patch jobs as cutting edge premiere phones.

I am not a happy Verizon customer at this point. I'm tempted to install the ICS leak, but am worried that if I do and I still have problems, it might get in the way of sending it back to them.

No issues here with my HTC Rezound with ICS, 4G LTE here is Staten Island NY is blazing fast, and since I have installed ICS, phone has been smoother and faster, with more features, yea you just keep waiting for Verizon to push the OTA, good luck with that, in a couple of months this phone will be out for exactly one year, which means it is OLD in today's Tech. Age. I am enjoying my ICS.

Just got 4G service down here in the sticks!
A lot faster for sure but speedtest won't work for me right now.
