4g/lte!

For me the Rezound is not a "4G phone". its a "Turn on airplane mode then turn off airplane mode then you will have 4G phone".

It all depends how close you are to the cell towers. Some of the people that are getting those high speeds are really close to there cell towers for there area. Me, I am on the edge or borderline. My speeds I get at home are 4-10 mbps down and like 1-2 down. What also plays into effect is the area you live in.

I'd love to know a bit more on the technical side - anyone know what the range of an average tower is? How much impact does terrain have? How many people can a tower or cell support? What throughputs are at various distances? Just curious. Or where I could find this information?

Thanks!

Mine seems to switch manually between the two fairly well. I was on the new 4g tower for two days without a glitch. And hour ago I switched back to 3g and drove 40 miles south. Read your post and turned 4g back on and am posting this on 4g without a problems.

Also being almost under the tower at home, battery life was not a problem. Seemed about the same. Hey VZW bring 4g everywhere!

BTW 4g here at Smoky Point is not what my new 4g is!

I'm not talking about speeds. The speeds are fine. My phone will will stay on 3g when I am in a 4g area unless I turn on then turn off airplane mode. I already tried factory reset and calling verizon to have them delete and recrereate my profile on the server then rebooting the phone with a simcard pull. I even got my simcard replaced. My phone still will not automatically go into 4g on its own.

That might be a good thing, as hunting between the two really drains ones battery along with being in a low signal area.

I continue to have good battery life with the new 4g tower on the hill across the channel from my house.

What power mode are you in? If not in high performance, switch to that.

Get an app called lteonoff and switch the phone to LTE only?
I keep mine on LTE with voice.

A Rezound phone was used for this Tapatalk post

I'm already in High Performance.... I can't select 4g only, my house is in a 3g only zone. I just want the phone to be in 3g in 3g zones and 4g in 4g zones. Too much to ask though I guess.
