5.7.893 radio/kernel

right - thanks for confirming that the there are indeed issues in updating the latest leaks because of the kernel issues. I guess we can only wait and hope that either motorolas official update won't have this problem or that someone comes up with a workaround.

you can do webtop and radio back to original stock but not the kernel due to a locked bootloader...but still, we tried to continue updating to leak 8.894 w/ no success(failed),so lets cross our finger that thre will be a talented Devs. that can do the the sbf/fxz to make it work for the incoming official update...but who knows..may be..it depends to what's on in an OTA update..

OK. So what about this ...

What if someone is full-on STOCK and experiencing data drop-outs and wanted to update the RADIO file only (no Kernel or System). Could they flash the newer RADIO files only (keeping everything else STOCK) and still revert back to the .886 STOCK RADIO file in order to take the official OTA? If so -- can one extract the RADIO file from a Leaked OTA (say 5.7.893 or 5.8.893) and flash via STOCK RECOVERY or CWM??

not sure tbh, someone else might know. that doesn't really address the problem for those of us that have already updated :(

Yeah. Probably more appropriate in a separate thread. Sorry got carried away with the possibilities of allowing users to solve their connectivity issues while still staying on the OTA path.

i don't think this gonna happen...and if it is..you gonna see them floating around...

the reason we cant flash custom kernels is because they are not signed by motorola, right? if we are trying to flash a motorola stock kernel then that would still be signed by motorola, wouldnt it? So couldnt we flash a stock kernel?

There's a possibility..we've been discussed this w/ mlapagia...

just a quick question... 5.5.893. Is that updated radio, kernel, webtop, and system? or what was updated there? Thats what im currently running

im on 5.7.893, and it definitely updated the radio and the kernel. i think 5.5.893 also updated the radio and kernel. Ask someone that never did any of these updates at all to look in settings -> About Phone and to post the Baseband item and the kernel. you can compare what yours is to see if its truly stock. I was under the impression though that the first leak 5.5.893 (assuming you updated the leak from motorola and not just some custom rom) def updated the kernel and radio.
