after another hour battle with vzw.. 5 yes five bionic replacements.. Tonight lead tech supervisor informs me OTA was due by end of November.. Now has been pushed back two weeks. I flipped out !!! Really bad!! I get the first razor to come into reconditioned inventory.. Ive been with no signal now for 3 minutes waiting to post this.. I prefer the bionic, but its my only phone and I need reliabilitiy not extra batteries.

All VZW 4G phones have been known to have the data drop problem. The fix for my charge was a new sim card.

To both threads.. Yes I'm aware, but my roommates razor works fine, my thunderbolt gets full bars, and the striper last week had a charge.. They all work fine.. What does that say about 4 bionic's already shipped back and received on replacement?

New Sim each time

I wouldnt get too excited about a CLNR Razr.
You're just inheriting somebody elses problem.. which will most likely mirror the issues you've been having already.

Jus sayin.

I'm hoping he meant stripper in which case I want pics/video.

I'm right there with ya except with a Rezound! I didn't go past two bionics with new sim cards each though lol. which each one having the same exact issue I forced them into it. The odds in getting 2 devices with the exact same problem, unless it is widespread are like russian roulette. And if the CLNR Rezounds are the quality of the Bionic I received and ditto for the RAZR then there's nothing to worry about. I think the new policy for returns and replacements is part of verizon trying to up the quality of their refurbs, because the boinic I got was just as nice as the new one I got, and it worked "better", but was still unacceptable.

Anyone else remember the day you could walk into a corp VZW store do a warranty exchange for a major issue once.. complain... go back again for the same issue.. then the third time they tell you to pick a new phone? *sigh* It's a fight to the death for anything like that now :(

That's awesome for your roommate! It's a shame that guarantees nothing for your refurbished Razr. Especially when the next great phone comes out and your roommate gets that one and it's better than your Razr. It's like the commercial about technology where you can't keep up no matter what you try to do.

Don't be a hater. I have three lines.. One has been month to month for a year.. Never upgraded that line.. Nexus is old news so I'm not to worried about having a sick phone as my personal line.. Its the bionic that's the issue. Explain why razr, thunderbolt, and charge all get full lte in same spot.. Guess I'm stupid cause in my world that sounds like a bionic issue with a little bit of research and process of elimination.. My conclusion is bionic. You have your opinions also.

I don't mean to sound like a hater. Sorry. I DID mean to play a little devils advocate with the intent to provide a different way to look at it. And you're right, your opinion and mine don't have to mesh. I must say though, seems like all devices will have their achilles heel, and sometimes it's better to wait for the update that repairs one, instead of skipping from one to the other before they are perfected. I am frustrated as well with the data losses and think Moto and VZW should do better with releasing quality products. But the Bionic IS a tight phone.

And I'm sorry for being the grinch.. I waited on the edge of my seat for this phone.. Months before the general public.. Like most of us that bought it on release.. I'm just so frustrated and its not very becoming of me to lash out at fellow Druid's . My apologies

No worries! I really do hope you have better luck with the Razr. I was so close to switching myself, and then decided I need to wait for the update. If THAT doesn't fix it, then I will lash out on someone

I had a bsod today but for the most part only have to toggle airplane mode every few days. I can't imagine having constant drops or even worse the people who have to do a battery pull to get data reset. Hopefully the ota update fixes it. I played with a Razr the other day, great screen and very nice phone. I still prefer the Bionic though because of the replaceable battery.
