I was searching the wed and my 8+ froze up and started making a loud buzzing noise, i couldn't do anything. After about 15 seconds the phone went dead and i had to turn it back on, everything seems to be working fine now.....weird.
Is it possible your phone overheated. If your phone reaches a certain temp, it should automatically shut down. Don't know about the odd buzzing noise though. Maybe the buzzing noise is the S8 way of warning you to cool your phone before it shuts down?
I've heard about this type of problem happened in a Nexus 5X of my cousin. Unfortunately, I don't know of any sort of preventative fix. It seems like, in most cases, it's an isolated event. The good news is that this never happened with him again.
Hopefully your s8+ is alright and will never face the same problem from here on out.
