I was forever rooted. But I lost root. I immediately rooted the phone again using the MOTOFAIL hack. 6 minutes tops and your phone will be rooted again. If you are worried about losing root try using VOODOO ROOTKEEPER from the play store. That might enable you to not lose root. I can't confirm bcuz at the time I did the update I didn't know anything about the app. You can never say for sure whether or not you will be taken off the update path. As long as the leaked .904 is the final/official release I assume we should be fine. But as you said we can always FXZ back to .902 to get back on the upgrade path. Give it a try man. I'm pretty sure you will be glad you did. There is one house in particular that I frequent a lot and for some reason on .902 4g would never stay on. Location i guess. Always was losing data there. On .904 now I do have 4g (although not the strongest signal) and when the 4g does go out it immediately goes to 3g. No data toggling/airplane mode etc required or anything. For me it was definitely worth it.

Hey KM75, thanks again for all of your help. I'm all done and 100% on .904 and it feels good (so far at least). I had to take at least a few minutes to try my most important apps and games to make sure everything was working, and so far EVERYTHING WORKS. I'm really glad you told me about VooDoo RootKeeper, it worked like a charm and I kept root!
If this update corrects my data problems (and doesn't cause me any others), I'll be happy with my Bionic just the way it is for a good while and not even concerned too much with ICS. The only other major problem I had not overcome with this phone was the super small 8GB of internal space for storing game data which was restricting me to only a few of my tons of HD games on the Bionic. So just so you know, that problem was just recently solved by an independently made app/tool called "Directoy Bind" which allows me to store absolutely everything on my external sdcard freeing up ALL internal 8GB! That made me feel like I had a whole new phone that I could put anything on with no space restrictions.
By the way, I just wanted to share the info on DB in case you were having similar problems with space like I did, in case you want to check it out go to the xda site at [TOOL] DirectoryBind - move data to external_sd (GameLoft, Shadowgun etc.) ROOT req. - xda-developers and get the latest version. Now if my data signal holds strong on .904 my phone will be just about perfect in my opinion. I LOVE MY BIONIC!!
I'll let all of you know if I run into any issues with this .904 upgrade.
Take care.
