First I would like to say Hello I am new here and will be getting my Droid within a week. I am from just north of Detroit.
I know Google and the Search function are my friends. I consider myself tech savy and can follow directions. I have been Googling and searching for over an hour. The problem is there is so many posts and threads I am having a hard time filtering it all. I understand Rooting and Root and what a ROM is.
My question is this - I am panning on rooting my phone on day one. I would also like to OC it to 800. Can any of the ROMs such as Sholes, Burgess including 2.1 be OCed using the evilboot files ect ? Am I confusing ROM with the Kernel ? Also if I can use any ROM can someone give me a brief side by side of the major ROMs , Sholes ect ? Are they all basically the same with diffrent wrappers ? What makes them unique to the others ? . I know alot of people say to try them all . The problem is I have a 12 week old and a 22 month old so my personal time to customize my phone is at a premium . Answers or a link or two will be greatly apperciated. Thanks in advance. Charlie
