Advantage of Bionic over D3?

Guess from the responses it doesn't seem to matter to most people, but apart from the keyboard, the one thing the D3 has that the bionic doesn't is GSM. A critical need for some (but not for this group!)

I fail to understand why people think they don't need the 4g, because they are not in a 4g area. Verizon is adding 4g very quickly and I expect most areas will have 4g before the next replacement comes up. Am I the only one with that opinion?

I love my Bionic. I am sure the Droid 3 is great though. I am getting extend battery that is on its way. 4g will suck down more battery life. I love all the features on the Bionic and plan on keeping it for a long while. I have not had any program freeze up yet which is porbably due to the memory. Bionic is a slick fast phone and the screen is gorilla (suppose to be tough and scratch free from what i have read). There will always be better phones as time moves on i am happy though with the bionic until my next upgrade. 4g is kind of new and the future looks bright dancedroid

The Bionic is definitely smoother and faster than the D3. This is due to the aforementioned 1GB of DDR2 RAM in the Bionic versus the 512MB of standard cell phone RAM in the D3.

The Bionic has a larger screen (4.3" vs. 4"), yet is lighter than both the D1 and the D3.

I upgrade from the D1 (CM7, Supercharged, 1GHz) to the Bionic and there's NO COMPARISON. Bionic all the way.

The droid 3 also have gorilla glass, 4 g is only as fast as my phone on wifi, I've never had an issue with my memory slowing me down. The droid 3 still has a keyboard, the

The one and only reason to get a D3 over a Bionic is if you absolutely have to have a physical keyboard. The Bionic has the D3 beat in every other category.

3 simple facts make this an easy decision

1. No blue pictures with Bionic
2. 3 letters that really make the the first and only required reason L---T---E! Need I say more?
3. 1 GB RAM in Bionic vs 512MB RAM in D3.....D3 has known and vastly reported lag....Bionic does not.

and if you must have a 4th.....the development on the Bionic is simply astounding. D3 was out for a couple months before root was achieved. Root on the Bionic was done before release....so time span is release to root to custom recovery to CM7 (basically) in about a week. That alone is "Bionic"....plus we have the perk of P3Droid and CVPCS both owning one.

I was one of those in denial in saying "I don't care about LTE right now" but after getting the Bionic and experiencing LTE I can tell you I will NEVER look back....not for a second.

3g I would get 1.3 at best for DL speeds.....LTE I am averaging....AVERAGING.....23.

Well if it wasn't for a rooted d3, the bionic wouldn't of had it that fast. They basically used the same method on it.

I must report that battery life is much better today. I used phone until it turned off and charged over night. I am get much better battery times now on stock battery. I am not up to par with droid 3. I do know compared to Droid X it is much smoother interface. I love some of the stock programs. Whenever the laptop dock comes down in price I am thinking about getting it. I got grandfathered in on unlimited data plan so it would make sense for me to get it just not paying full price right now. Once the next big thing comes out soon then the price may reduce on laptop dock. The HD Station allows 3 usb ports to hook up mouse and key board or you can go blue tooth. You get a firefox browser it is great and I personally like it. I am not sure if this is an accessory droid 3 offers. Anyways you got a great phone. I just have been waiting out because I knew this phone would meet my needs fully for work and whatever else i need to get things done. The 4G is crazy fast. I can be happy with this phone for a long time to come. I honestly did not care for 4g but once I got this phone I understand what an upgrade from 4g. Will i need 4g all the time? Probably not but when I do I got it. 4g is a huge upgrade peroid regardless of the phone you are using in the wireless industry. I love zumocast and accessing large files off my laptop to my phone without having to wait forever when i need them. All in all its a great phone and the best I have ever owned to date. I know future phones are coming down the line but this one will hang with them imo for a long while. I will keep this one for 2 years and if for some reason something else next year is appealing then maybe i will upgrade one of my other lines but i doubt it. How has your gorilla screen performed as far as scratches and things to that nature? It seems to be very durable.

Yeah I'm going to wait for a better 4 g phones come out, I'm not really impressed by the speed my phone is plenty fast enough for me. Too much sacrifice for a faster phone. I am really happy I got the droid 3
