After a month, I'm in love with the physical keyboard.

I thought I would enjoy having the physical keyboard, but I never find myself using it. I can type extremely fast with the virtual and the auto correction is fairly intelligent.

I use the virtual keyboard for short notes and texts and the physical keyboard for longer writing. The physical keyboard is adequate. I keep hitting the space bar whenever i type "n" though.

I use both about equally. The only thing holding me back from using the physical keyboard more is my spelling sucks so I rely a lot on the predictive text/corrections of the virtual keyboard. If they added that function to the physical keyboard I doubt I'd use the virtual keyboard again.

Physical keyboard is great for typing while on a subway or while walking. The virtual keyboard is tough with the small movements of a train or walking, but the physical one is easier to control in those situations.

I never thought I would be. Coming from an iphone I always told myself I would never use a physical keyboard again. Well, I've been using the keyboard and I just love it now. At first I didn't like it that much, but now (maybe it's my imagination) the keyboard buttons are easy to press and it feels like they are not so flat. I love it.

Well, ya'll are going to think I'm totally nuts (and maybe I am, but I'm right about this), because on my droid the keyboard is getting less flat. When I first started using the droid back in November, I hated that the keys were totally flat. I could not feel the difference from one key to the next as I slid my finger across. Well, now after using it more and more, I can feel and see there is a slight bump in the middle of each key. I can now feel each key as I slid my finger across the board. My Droid is morphing!!

This is EXACTLY how mine feels. I kinda mentioned it, but didn't want to sound dumb. But yeah, it feels as if the keyboard is no longer flat. It's weird.

The keyboard is flat, too flat. Yes, there is a very slight raise in the center of the key, but IMO not enough to help most distinguish one key to the next. If anyone can find a legit review that says the keyboard in a good addition Id like to see it.

Have a look at this...

I've checked that out, been afraid to install it with all the posts about how buggy it is and the problems with the way it replaces the virtual keyboard.

you know, mine seems to be easier now to sense the bumps too.
I use the physical almost exclusively, and while I once hated it I have not moved to love, but I don't hate it anymore...

I'm loving the 2.1 style voice keyboard installed in the 2.0.1 Sholes 1.2 ROM :) I used it at the gas station to input number of gallons and it worked beautifully. i was also using it to IM a friend and it translated most of what i said correctly.

I am spoiled with my work blackberry. I hate to admit it in my favorite forum, but the Droid's physical keyboard is harder to type with than my blackberry tour (imho). But I often find myself trying to operate my tour by touching the screen. LOL

I'm just starting to use swipe and I can see some definate possibilites with that. I can't wait to have voice recognition for all text boxes with 2.1!

All I used was the physical keyboard and was a big reason I bought this phone...until I got Swype. Swype is the way to go.
