Am I going nuts?

So last night I swear I drained my battery to 1%. ( using cm7 w/ 1% inc) before switching to my spare battery. Then when I switched back to the dead battery it shows that it has 50% remaining. I'm positive I never charged it, only charged the spare when it was about to die.
Is it me or the phone giving false infomation ?

If you don't clear battery stats when changing batteries, it may give false information.
