Am i the only one who . . .

You can teach Swype to swear, or any word for that matter.
All you have to do is... 'tap' out the word want (type as if it's a normal keyboard)... when the word is on top of the suggestion box, press the space bar and the word will be entered into the text box... and into Swype's memory :)

All last semester my friends all thought I had a new Boy friend.
Everytime they asked me what I was doing I would anwer.

" I am doing HW"

But what I didn't realize in my haste that Droid was auto correcting and what my friends were getting was

" I am doing Howe"

Finally someone replied, who is this Howe guy and why haven't I met him if you spend so much with him!

LOL

That is too funny!

That is the LONG way to add words to your dictionary. Next time you type a word its quick to add it. Lets say you are texting "haha" like the OP. The list of recommended words will be:

haha Bahamas Hagar gags hags whatever

Bahamas will be in bold because that is what it thinks is closest to what you put but notice how what you ACTUALLY typed is the first option? Longpress on "haha". You'll see "Haha: saved" pop up. Now it is in your dictionary for next time. :)

"Droid" used to become "Croissant" As in, I am customizing my croissant. Or, this email was sent from my croissant.

Was that with swype? The native app on mine has always not only gotten the word right, but capitalizes it for me as well. So 'droid' comes out "Droid" every time.

As for strange ones, I've only encountered one that stood out in memory: "FYI" comes out as "Dying".

Sweet!... I learned a new trick again.. I thought I was too old!

Does swype work with Handcent or in place of?

Yep, I use swype with Handcent all the time with no issues so far.

I haven't tried it "and don't even know where to download it for the Droid" but it seems swype would irritate me as I like to use my phone in portrait mode and the keyboard in that mode is small enough that my finger would be in the way half the time if I never lifted it up to see whats underneath?
