I think you might have me misunderstood see I just have the normal stock android 2.2 installed and I never tried to root it before basicly is there a way to root my motorola droid with android 2.2

Yeah apparently i'm a dumbass and thought I updated to android 2.2 a while ago when it was 2.1 how do I get around without walking into doors? God only knows. Thanks for the patients guys.

Just root your 2.01. Upgrade to froyo

If you have the latest version of Froyo installed, you are already rooted. Froyo comes with root. I wasn't rooted until I installed Froyo.

Because it works with LESS bugs when it released from VZW, when we start messing with it things do not work as intended. And personally, I do not want a rom, I just want stock, with OC. I am more than happy running 2.1 rooted and overclocked stock. EDIT: And I am much happier now that I got stock 2.2 without having to flash a rom

Just like when was 2.1 gonna come out, I doubt even GOD would know.
But yea, if you don't take matters into your own hands, you just gotta wait, and noone ever knows when verizon and moto will release what they have to.
