The lucky folks who have the Google Play Edition of the HTC One M8 or M7 should be happy to learn that Android 5.0.1 is already pushing out to their devices. This is build LRX22C, and it's interesting that Google skipped the Android 5 and went straight for 5.0.1 for these devices.

There's no word on when the "vanilla" versions of the HTC One M8 and M7 will get their turn at the tasty Lollipop licking, but we can't imagine it is too far behind. It basically depends on how quickly HTC can get their Sense UI working with Android 5.0.1.
