Android Doing so poor Verizon Needs the Iphone

I just don't see how this article can be true when the activation figures I've been hearing put Android in the lead for the past few months. Android OS has 300k daily while iOS has (at last report) 240k-ish daily?
You're overlooking the fact that Verizon isn't the only carrier offering Android devices. The article linked in the OP specifically covers Verizon Android sales figures, not overall Android sales figures.

Bottom line? All this is sort of stupid. They are comparing apples and oranges. If Apple wants to boast sales figures, just use numbers that can't be argued. The iPhone 4 is beating the pants off EVERY Android based phone one-on-one hands down.
Again, read the article rather than beat on the well-beaten dead horses. The article simply claims that VZW is interested in the iPhone since it's Android sales figures haven't matched at&t's iPhone's sales figures. Why would it matter to VZW what sales figures are for Android devices on other carriers? It doesn't improve VZW's bottom line.

Add in the other manufacturer sales of other Android phones and the figures tilt in favor of Android OS phones.
That's not the topic of the article. The scope was Verizon Android device sales figures versus at&t iPhone sales figures. Whether the article's numbers are correct or its conclusions and assertions are biased are completely different matters.

At least read the article before refuting it.

even if/when iphone becomes available on verizon, i'm sticking with android based phones. so long as there is still enough of a market for it, which i say there still will be fo sho!

Wherever that information came from I'll guarantee it's a rumor or based on company-supplied information and therefore is highly suspect!

Having said that, I have to disclose that I prefer Coke to Pepsi and I HATE ANTIFREEZE, I mean MOUNTAIN DEW!

Love cider, though. Apple. Cider. :icon_ devil:

Jones makes green Apple soda.

Just saying. You know, since this is a thread about Apple. Jones also makes a turkey & gravy soda for the holidays.

Why don't you get off Pepsi's back!!

I happen to have a pepsi, mountain dew and a Dr pepper in my fridge and they are excellent tasting products!.. lol

Ok, my two cents.... I think the I phone would sell very well for verizon. As much as I love my droid x. I want an iphone or possibly an ipad as their apps, specially music recording, are far superior to anything android has. Android is relatively young and the true potential has not been unlocked yet. But until it does. I would give my x up for an iphone tomorrow. Ok, not really because att coverage is horrible here. For a verizon iphone. Now, hopefully in a year when my contract is up, android has made huge leaps in the app category. I think app and app development needs broader support. Ok, go ahead and kick me now! Lol
