I can understand the microwave as it's in the kitchen; you can look up recipes and what not. But why the hell would someone want this for the washing machine? Do people really use them for more than 30-40 seconds at a time? And look how far back that screen is, you'd have to hunch over the thing to use it!

The only benefit I could see is that those appliances could send you an e-mail when they're done. Other than that, useless.
