Android wear update

I rebooted my phone this morning, just because (it's been a few weeks and figured a reboot wouldn't hurt). When it turned back on I had a "Pair With Watch..." request on my phone and a Pairing Request message on my watch. I wonder if this is normal with AW 2.0, because of the built in watch Play Store? Every reboot requires a new pairing request?

Not that I´ve noticed, although when I tried to use the audio from the watch for answering calls the phone was constantly asking me to repair the watch but I believe it already happened before the update as well.
To be honest I never was able to make the "Dick Tracy" calls work. It was an issue I was hoping that the update solved but it didn't...

I've rebooted both devices several times since the update & haven't received any new pairing request...

Not much chatter here in a while. Is everyone liking AW 2.0? Anyone else still experiencing random watch & phone disconnects, where all of the sudden your watch and phone are asking you if you want to pair the devices?

Overall thoughts on a 2.0 now that it's been out for a while? Was it worth the wait?

I'm still not sure what took so long. It's a nice update, but not any kind of game changer.

I haven't had the disconnect issues.

Still wish they wouldn't have gotten rid of the double press of the physical button to activate theater mode. That's still my biggest peeve about this update.

I'm experiencing those issues on my Huawei Watch. The update was OK, some things are better, other worse.

Sorry to hear that. But at least it's not happening on just Moto 360 watches apparently? What phone do you use? I'm trying to figure out why this happens so much with Moto 360, if it's something in the Moto App on our Z phones, etc.

I had very frequent disconnects. Reset the watch. I can't believe it never occurred to me. Sure enough there Is a new option: always keep connected (this will impact battery). Fixed.

It happens with the HTC one m8 and the HTC 10. Did a reset but it still happens from time to time. Oh, and I could never pick up calls directly from the watch.

Google Music on AW2 is still horribly user unfriendly. Otherwise, app management has been hugely improved (and you can install many apps that are on your phone that you can't find in the AW store, but not all are going to run perfectly).

It's a minor quibble, but I don't like that you can still only pair your watch with one device - only connecting to one at a time I understand, but we should also be able to pair with a tablet, at minimum.

The redesigned Google Play Music on my watch is one of the only things I actually do like about AW 2.0. with the constant watch & phone disconnects many Moto 360 users are experiencing I just can't get happy about 2.0 yet. And I don't like having a second Play Store app to manage, but that will become the norm and the negative feeling will fade away eventually.

I don't understand this issue - I install apps, not manage a Play Store.

Though I will say apps have some work to do. There is pretty good standalone capability, but the vast majority of apps still aren't more than companion apps on AW2.

It's not an "issue", I just prefer the way AW 1 worked when it comes to watch faces, that are also apps. I just installed an app (watch face) on my phone and it auto synced with my watch. I'm not crazy about having to now open the Play Store app on my watch also and then download the same watch face app again. But...it does prevent apps that were not really AW compatible from auto syncing to the watch, so there is that benefit. I can see why Google added the separate Play Store for the watch, I'm sure many AW users wanted it.

I hear you there. It's nice to be able to install little things on the watch & not need a useless phone app to go with it. It's also nice to install an app on the phone & not end up with a useless watch app taking up space, but it'd be nice if it recognized a watch face app on the phone & auto-synced it to the watch with no input necessary from the user.
