My data was gone. But then I downloaded it from a link. I tried deleting it, but I also deleted the beta version.

In the version I downloaded from the market without my data, there seems to be new games in the first levels--a few of the same, but only a few.

I installed the full version from the market. The old levels don't save because all of the levels are now different.

I haven't seen any ads yet and it's working great.

When I tried to install the lite version way back, I got the unsucessfull message every time. So I did this:

Download terminal emulator and then type in rm /mnt/secure/asec/smdl2tmp1.asec

This worked perfect for me an it installed. So for those having problems installing, I would give this a shot. Sounds like a similar problem.

Just type angry birds and it should be the third down in the list under the light version and an app that shows you how to beat it
