Any Blackberry users switch to the Droid Pro?

Went to get a battery for the BB Curve 8330 and discovered the phone was in need of a major overhaul. Best thing that could have happened! I'm loving my new Droid Pro!

The Motorola Droid Pro is HANDS DOWN light years ahead of the Blackberry 9650. And this is coming from a previous die-hard BBM fanatic. It is just comparing a Blackberry when it first came out to a flip phone - it's a dumb contest.

I switched from a Tour 9630. Set up the same number of email accounts, WiFi off, bluetooth on (but not used). Battery life is dismal on the droid pro compared to the Tour even with the Droid Pro extended battery (about 10-11 hrs). I'm hoping it improves, but if it doesn't, I might have to go back to the Tour (batt life about 22 hrs)

Personally I can't see anyone using there phone much more than me, and I'm getting 9-10 hours out of a standard battery. Look through some of the battery saving threads here on the forum, and also check your battery statistics to see whats eating up your battery. Maybe a rouge app on your phone eating it up.

Same here - switched from a 2 year old BB Curve to the Pro on the day they came out. I don't think I'll ever go back to a BB. The ONLY issue I have is with the battery. By the end of each day, I'm down to about 30% with average use....

I currently have a Bold 9700. I almost immediately jumped ship and got the Droid Pro...but after reading several reviews I am now hesitant. The battery issue doesn't concern me...but everybody is saying that the call quality on the DP is terrible. Not sure if it's just bad in general or if it's bad compared to other higher end phones like the Droid X, Evo 4G, etc. (which isn't really a fair comparison).

So for those that made the switch from BB to DP...what's your experience been in terms of call quality?

Thanks in advance

I came from a BB Storm and there is no comparison. The Droid is so much faster than the BB you can't even compare them. No issues with call quality, and I like the physical keyboard.

I switched from the Blackberry Curve 8330 to the Motorola Droid Pro & now I'm back to Blackberry. I got the Bold 9650 today. I just like Blackberrys.

Why did you pick the Droid Pro over the Droid 2 (or Droid 2 Global) which gives you a physical keyboard as well? It looks like you give up some screen size with the Pro.

Switched from Blackberry

I switched from BB to Droid Pro and it initially worked perfectly with corporate exchange server. 3 weeks into it, however, all my e-mails, including gmail, corporate server, etc. are buggy and the phone has been regularly shutting down and starting up again. So far, now help in the Forum on that. Headed to Verizon tomorrow.

Things that I hate about my Blackberry:

*Longer restart when you do a battery pull.
*Browser still sucks even with OS6
*Screen resolution needs to get better.
*RIM needs to improve their OS plain and simple.
*Not many apps in the app world

Things I love about my Blackberry:

*Keyboard
*Ease of use
*Dedicated Call and hang up button
*Battery life

With my Droid Pro, the keyboard really satisfies me, along with a nice big screen, great marketplace, and user friendly interface. Am I happy with the switch? Yes, totally. Best decision I have ever made.

The Pro is more fun and has more to offer when emails was the buzz it was all about BB now its media and other tech stuff. The pro has it all still some bugs but what phone dosent have it. i had a moto droid orig then went to bb tour now i am wit the pro and i am so happy.

Had a bb curve, curve 2, and a tour. And droid pro blows them all out of the water. I don't think I'll ever go back to bb.
