So i was sitting here wondering how many of you folks out there are in the PUBLIC SAFTY field and what are the apps that help you? So if you have any pics or storys that you can tell where your phone has helped out with a problem post them...I beat we can make this a cool thread...Thanks all....

Paramedic of 10 years here. Use mostly the just the nav from time to time. google search to identify those pills that the pt doesnt seem to the identity of.

Would be glad to hear of other apps that may come in handy.

Policestream is a streaming scanner app has thousands of cities I use it a lot while bored or wanna know why half the police force or firetrucks just flew by my house

EMS for 7 years, mostly use the google maps & navigation....although MotoTorch comes in handy also....i do like to be prepared for the weather for the day so i use the weather channel widget and radar now....traffic cams comes in handy planning for the pittsburgh trips, PDA net helps me get my reports done while i'm still out in the field...especially paired with dolphin....oh yea, and youtube, iheartradio, pandora, and media server keep me entertained back at the garage.

Fire and EMS here. I use the PDAnet to mess around on the MDT on the way back from a call and the moto torch has come in handy more than a few times. Google nav is awesome when I am on call and respond to the scene rather then the firehouse. Police stream is nice if I do not have my radio with me (motorola also).

Fire/EMS for 19 years. Just got the droid, but using GPS and google maps comes in handy when in the woods on a brush fire. You can identify water supplies close to you like ponds and canals.

Fire full time & vollie and part time EMS.

I'm wanting an app that some a few folks have talked about on iphones that allows one to keep track of their own response times, but don't know if it's being made for the Droid yet. Also, the ERG app would be nice to have on Droid. Searched the market and nothing to be found.

12 hour shift Law Enforcement. Couldn't survive without Pandora and DroidLive (mearly to keep me relaxed). Otherwise I work multiple jobs and the Firehouse Scheduler keep me on track. (1 F/T, 2 P/T, and odd security jobs) WHEW. I also like Google Translate helps me with my spanish translations. I have a GPS so I don't use Google maps much, BUT, Google Earth is nice for terrain (working nights in rural setting) in case you have to conduct a search on foot.

FireMedic here. Use navigation a LOT when responding to calls. Play Solitaire while riding backwards. Used google maps to show a FNG inspector where a hotel is located. My DROID gets better reception inside "The Fridge" (my station) than my cellular modem.
