Any ICS news yet?

I'm really fed up with my Bionic's handling of 4g on .905. If it continues like this I'm gonna try to get it swapped for a Maxx. Only problem is there's only a little over a month left until my warranty is up! I'd really like to see how the ICS OTA fixes this. Are we confident it will drop before most of our warranties are up? I know I can try a leak but I'd rather not if at all possible.

Your issues are with the VZW LTE network, NOT your phone. Look around the Razr/Maxx forums and you will see that they have issues w/ 4G as well as the Bionic folks. Its just something that comes along with adopting new tech, there are going to be bugs. The 905 update helped with my 4G issues, and the ICS leaks have been better, however I know VZW has expanded to almost all of Mass and southern NH, so I know that helped out with my signal drops.

Also, why would VZW give you a different phone? You have had it for 11 months (assuming 12 month Moto warranty) and now, just before your warranty runs out you are going to try and scam a new phone from them? Look, VZW is a bunch of scumbags with their business practices, but that doesn't mean that its ok to make false warranty claims just because you want a new phone. Its instances like this that cause the changes in policies for refurb phones, too many people filing false claims so they start to tack on extra fees with things.

If you really need a new phone that badly, buy one from craigslist or ebay and sell your bionic to offset the price.

Not entirely true, I had nothing but issues with 905 loosing data 20+ times a day and sometimes wouldn't get it back for a while. Was ready to ditch my Bionic and then installed ICS 230 three weeks ago and have been running solid data and great signal since not to mention a way faster phone. From what I read ICS fixed most people's data issues. There was even a message from VZW I thought that said the last update (905) had a issue with registering to 4G. So there's hope, either wait a lil longer or flash :)

ok my bad. i forgot about the issues that i had on 905, i guess its selective memory on my part :p

i had noticed that the data drops were getting incrementally better, i had just attributed it to the improving/growing network. i've been on 232 (for what seems to be forever) and haven't had any real issues with data drops, i also got 4G at work 2-3 weeks ago so it has all been very dynamic on my end.

ics .232 fixed all my data issues... i think this is the best my phone has ever been. it really turned my phone 180 i was wanting to ditch it and now love it... feels like a new phone to me.

also why not flash your phone to the new leak? u can still get warranty out of it just fxz back?

I don't have any data issues with 902 905 only time I have data issues is when the network is down otherwise its been very solid
After i start using the ics leaks my data has improved alot getting faster speeds now i'm on 235 for a few weeks and love it
Only issues i had with the bionic is when i'm on 893 and i keep getting BSOD so they sent me a replacement
To my surprise my replacement bionic seems to be alittle better
My 1st bionic i can't overclock to 1.25 when i do it'll reboot but my replacement i was able to overclock to 1.3 without any reboots

to heck with the OTA release...I have been on .232 for several weeks now and it has been flawless for me. 4g data is rock solid, phone is fast, smooth and I love all the new toys in ICS. Why mess with success.

I have had a few instances of data drops on 232, but at this point, I'm chalking it up to VZW's network because it seems like it was an isolated event.

Well it just so happens that I'm off work today so I think I'll give .232 a whirl when the kid goes down for his nap.

Gotta say, I had good luck all the way from 893. Started with 893, flashed the 901 leak, got back on path for the 902, flashed the 904 leak then the 905 leak, FXZed and flashed 2233, 229, 230, and 232. My bionic has been sterling through the whole thing, but still, the difference between GB and ICS is sick. Resources actually used efficiently! The actual utilization of the dual cores is magnificent, makes you realize how ridiculous the dual core activation script for GB is. I didn't get the 1.2 Ghz, stuck at 1.0 (I was at 1.266 on GB with the projekt opptimizer module), but with 2750+ quadrant scores and amazing battery life that's OK. At this point I would probably underclock to 1.0 if I had gotten the 1.2. I'll probably still wait for feedback on the OTA before I FXZ and take it because my 232 is so near perfection.

Installed .232 this weekend and I must say I have fallen in love with my Bionic again! 4G data locks on faster and is more stable. Phone is pretty snappy and I love all the ICS features. I'm running Holo Launcher HD and love it, but might try Apex. I have a lapdock but haven't tried it out yet. Anyone know how Holo HD is on the lapdock? Is Apex really much better?
