Hello friends of droid forums, I'm new to these whole new phones, so far I'm loving it. But I was wondering if anyone knows of a good mmorpg (massive multiplayer online role play game). Even if its not free, I wanna see some online gaming in action.
Thanks in advance.

Those "______ Wars" games are kinda MMORPG's. You play against other "players" but they're not WoW or anything like that. Mafia Wars, Ninja Wars, crap like that. They're actually not really good at all.

But I would imagine someone will develop one eventually, the device is just really young.

I am keeping an eye on this, this device has some extreme potential for mmo popularity. I can't wait for something 3d. :)

The best thing I could see working for MMO purposes would be some sort of technology like Layar, where enemies, items and other players appear on a radar and are superimposed in reality. The camera interacting with GPS technology would theoretically allow such a game, but someone would have to take the plunge and make it. A similar idea was done with a Pac Man engine by a university a couple of years back but they said the GPS, camera and gaming technology put together would cost thousands per person- not with the Droid! Once they do, though, count me in- it would be great combined with an iPod Video Visor-like device with a phone mount attached, so you could see only the reality/fantasy hybrid, but again, it hasn't happened yet. I can only imagine a Pokemon game like this...

This is actually being done right now. It's in beta and will be released for the iPhone. You play with a bunch of friends. Sort of like paintball without the paintballs. Just as you described though. The GPS will give players a HUD of the surrounding enemy's and the camera will act as the "gun"

I told the dev to bring it over to Android : )

We'll see. Their company is Apple all the way but they are now interested in jumping on the Android bandwagon as well.

Look at awplanet. It was on the market for awhile but I can't find it now its a 3d mmorpg kinda like runescape
