Any way to get corp exchange email or get outlook to forward?

Understood, HIPPA compliance requires encryption over any public network. I tried the Corp calendar and contacts on the Droid but found Touchdown t be more functional especially when it comes to the calendar. You can tell it not to sync email.

only way to get exchange email at the enterprise level to the droid safely and have hipaa happy is to use the goodlink service. same concept as how blackberry does it. full control by corp IT over the content and they can remotely lock/wipe the device as well.

there's a goodlink server that connects to the exchange server. the goodlink server pushes email to your devices (winmo and android). you can't use activesync or other exchange connectivity methods unless the corp exchange server is opened to the internet and most large companies will not do that (too much risk for sox/hipaa/etc). only companies i've seen that allow activesync are smaller ones that don't mind the risk

touchdown is a personal relay method running on your own pc

Touchdown is not a relay package. Touchdown syncs OTA to a corporate exchange service using the OWA service on exchange.

oops... my bad. i stand corrected.

seems like touchdown requires exchange activesync open to the internet then? if so, most larger corps are going to have that shut down...
