Any Way To...

Sorry, any spare cash I have is going into my new car and any mods pertaining to that car .

What car ?

Well I gave my dad back my 18th birthday present (2005 325i manual) because I wanted my own car. He wouldn't let me sell/trade that one unless I payed him for it. If I kept it, it was free. I know. Silly choice :). I didn't want something handed to me anyways. Only thing I'm getting for free right now is the roof over my head, since I live so close to school.

Right now I'm torn between getting a 04+ S2000 with low miles and some minor goodies or this stock 97 Supra TT with 68k miles I've been eyeing. S2000 will set me back around to $20k and I can pay in full, while the Supra will set me back $35k, and I'll need to make payments on it, AND I can't buy anything for it right away.

i applaud you for wanting to pay your own way... actually it's quite impressive nowadays... however you still obviously got some cash to spend... so you're doing ok :)

Mmmm the supra is so sexy. A friend of mine a few years back had a supra TT that he had converted to a single turbo setup, and was making 500+ HP on it. It was an absolute beast. He had bought it for 33k, and ended up selling it for more than 50k (needed money for med school).

on OP, you could, before handing over your phone, change contact display options to show none.

I think you can hide your contact, just don't know how.

And I know you enjoy your privacy, but do you really have anything to hide? It's also common courtesy that people don't go through your contacts and texts. You do have a right to be worried if they do this though, pretty shady imo.

And as for your future car, did you test drive either of them? I have an 04 s2000 myself and it's loads of fun. The supra would probably be easier as a DD but im guessing it's dropped a bit, so should be about the same. Whatever you choose, good luck. If you got any questions about the s2000, PM me. I'll try to answer your questions as best as I can.

thats actually a good question as I go through the same thing. My friend always asks to use my phone to listen to music and web browse... he's much younger than me so he acts his age and sometimes I just dont want to hear the naggin "come on I jus wanna listen to two songs! come on! Dont be like that! COME ON!!!" but at the same time i feel on edge watching his every move not to go through my stuff.

If contacts could be "hidden" or locked id love to know of a way.

Nothing to hide, but like I said, I would like all my private information to be just that.. private. Texts and calls I can delete, but I can't exactly do that with my contacts.

I've driven my friends S2000, but that was like 2 days after he got it, so he didn't let me really 'drive' drive it. Cruised the neighborhood at like 30+ MPH. It was hard for me to get used to because the throws were so short compared to mine. I live in SoCal so the S2000 would be nice almost year round. The Supra is looking to be too costly for me. I found some pretty cheap NSX's :rofl3: ($26k) just for fun, but I'd hate to see the insurance quote I get on those.

Yea people are always asking to use the Droid. I don't even like people going through my music. If I could lock that I would too.

Yeah i understand how you want to keep your phonebook as private. Still some common courtesy would mean the people handling your phone shouldn't go through it. Best advice is to keep the Phone widget off the main screen, alot of people don't know about the 2 other screens, so keep it there?

As for the s2000, yeah the throws are short and the clutch is heavy. Driving my friends' cars all seem so light. Really shows what kind of car the s2000 is, kinda sad but also glad to see it being put out of production. I own a rare car now!:icon_ banana: I was looking at an NSX too, but that's too much for a DD, plus my car sits outside:icon_frown:, but i got the obtainable dream car! Now time to work on getting that F430....

Good luck! If you want more info on the s2000 i recommend you check out s2ki.com. Very helpful and resourceful site.

I could say no, but that totally makes me look like an ass.

oop! guess I look like an ass to my friends :icon_ banana:

I don't have my contacts on the main home page anymore, or my phone option and my speed er direct dials are on the other screen...

most times I'll "make the call" and hand the phone over IF I'm nice enough to let anyone use it. They're too inept so if I show anything or look something up I keep the phone in my possession and show them.. ahahah I AM a b!itch LOL
