anybody have any ideas on what kind of apps they want made?

Does anyone know an app where it measures 40-60 mph or 20-50 mph times using a GPS signal and a simple timer ? So say I set my app to start timing when I hit 40 mph and then stop timing automatically when I hit 60 mph ?

I looked into the Adyno app, but its completely useless for those kinds of things.

Thanks!

any good applications lock out there. I tried a few and ether they are slow or stop working. Does anyone recommend one that the been using for while :)

I constantly notice the 3G arrows are lit up in the notification bar when I look at my Droid. This tells me that data is constantly being sent/received. Not that I care as to exactly how much data because I have an unlimited data plan, but how do I know that I didn't install some seemingly benign kids game that is in actuality a rouge app that is using my Droid as a proxy to launch bot attacks against the FBI or something. (No, I'm not paranoid...why? What did you hear?)

I would like to have an app that would tell me what programs (ex. Yahoo Messenger) are using data, how much data within a date range (ex. Yahoo messenger used 47MB this month), and whom they are communicating with (hostnames or ip addresses)? Not down to the packet level or anything ridiculous, but I would like to know what is going on under the hood of my 3G connection.

And this information would be displayed via the app UI, could be exported (emailed), and be stored in a text log file on the SD card.

I would be willing to pay up to $5 USD for this app with lifetime updates.

A good gym app with targets. iStayFit is what I used on the iphone. Far from perfect, but it did the job. I've got about every gym app loaded on my droid but none really do what I need them to do. I like to right down my workout with weights and reps beforehand, then workout with those weights. If I fail to complete a set I'll mark that down. If you want to get really specific, I'd love an app that is based on the Starting Strength program. Here's an excel file with several different version developed based on the program. Pretty much all of the calculations have already been done so might save some time for the right developer. It's been too many years since I've done any programming (Fortran, C, C++ and Java in college) so I doubt I'll attempt anything.

I would like an app that changes my lock screen to show the titles of each of my emails, previews of text messages, and of GTalk messages. It should also have an option to change it to a rotary on-screen.

When it is on the normal lock screen, the "lost phone" contact is at the bottom of the screen, with the different messaging services at the top with the back of the previews being transparent (not the text though).

Each of the different previews of services would've their main icon next to them, with the name of the person who sent it being underneath it.

It would be called Locked Message.

Surfire has a shot timer app for iPhone. I'd love to have one for my Droid.

Basically, a shot timer has a start button, and once pressed, it will beep within 5 seconds (random start time from start button is a bonus) and it "marks" each time it "hears" a gun shot.

Then you can go back through and see how long to the first shot (timing how long it takes you to get out of the holster) and each follow up shot. I can't imagine that it would be difficult to do. A bonus would be if you could set a time limit as well, that would end with a beep.

I have a few ideas; some seemingly simple, some more complicated.

1. Using txt to speech and setting it as an alarm or reminder. There are tons of TTS programs, but none that will let me save the thought and set it to an alarm.

2. A music app that helps train the ear. Basically a note would play and you would have to guess the note being played. I have come across something similar but it only lets you pick the key the note is in or if its a minor or major chord.

3. ANY music or rhythm game would be nice.

There is an app that allows you to set an appointment by voice, and it includes the subject. It is called Voice 2 Calendar. It is a paid app, but I don't believe it cost very much.

What I actually want is to type in a reminder and it will use the tts software as an alarm.

Like instead of a bell alarm, it would say something like "take your pill" or "buy milk"

We need a truck stop app like the iphone has. pilot truckstops and Loves truck stops.
also. Bark off app. or some app that would stop barking, or if you went to someones yard or a mean dog to make it stop and not bite. Thanks.

That seems like something that Tasker could pull off somehow.

Still looking for app ideas

I just joined the group and asked how one would get an idea made into an app and they sent me to you.

Are you still looking for ideas? I've got a few.
