Anyone have an LG G watch?

Horrible app, JS. Currently testing it. Honestly I can't find one thing I like about it over the stock Android app...
Thanks for the heads up, though. I was waiting for something like this.

Its not the best, but for me it works well enough. It's lacking alot of functionality but I can read my emails and that's enough for the moment.

Finally got my spring bar tool and for giggles grabbed an old cheap watch and swapped bands. Man i should have swapped bands a long time ago. This cheap 5 watch band feels much more comfortable than what comes stock with the g watch. Now I am the hunt for some watch bands.

Ok I don't often pay for apps, I don't pirate I just find free versions of what I need. But with watch faces I'm finding the free ones just aren't as good or as nice as the paid one. I just got Minimal Elegant and I am in love. It's so simple but very customizable. Here it is if you want to check it out. Watch Face - Minimal Elegant - Android Apps on Google Play

Only shows the Moto 360, but looks great on the G Watch.

I have bought two new faces also, seems worth the minimal price to help the devs. This one looks good too, might have to add it to my collection. I have been changing faces every few days just to keep things new & fresh.

I've bought a few & paid for premium in a collection or two. I agree. I like to contribute & the free ones don't quite cut it. I joined the watchmaker community on g+ & have picked up some great looking faces, but their ambient modes are lacking & I always have to tweak them.

How does that one look in ambient? I actually considered it a while back, but ambient is a big deal for me since that's what it shows most of the time. Sucks when a face looks cool until the screen goes dim.

Good point. I bought and instantly refunded two faces recently that looked great on the Play Store but did not look nice when they went into ambient on the watch. I was a little bummed, they looked so good when illuminated. I still think this tech is only going to get better in the future.

I was reading an article on Gizmodo earlier asking if smartwatch were already dying out.

Had to laugh. The tech is still in its infancy, even though Pebble has been around a couple years. (Their main point was it's only sold a million in 2 years while the g1 did so in 6 months.)

Not to mention, how many of us in this community just got them around the time this thread started?

Is it a niche product? Sure, especially at this point. But I can't even count how many people I know who swore up & down they had no use for a smartphone they're now carrying them.

Also....I was so busy working 12 - 15 hour days the last few weeks on the road I forgot to post here that my G Watch broke the ice with some stiff upper management people during a long....long meeting. They were like little kids during a break asking me questions about it. It was funny. But...after that conversation I was asked if I was willing to take a new job with more responsibility and more pay. More to follow...but the watch was a nice talking point...

I haven't paid for a Face. I bought Facer Pro and the community on the Facerpro site is making great Faces. Some awful one's too, of course. But for a buck its well worth it.
Re: fad. I swore I'd never buy a watch again and here I am.
Are you taking the job, Sajokaz? Don't leave us hanging! :)

That's the "more to follow" part....8-) Nothing official yet. But if offered officially...yes. It was just comical how it all transpired. Even the most formal people can be like a kid in a candy store when they see something that catches their eye.

In ambient mode it looks pretty much the same. It's literally just dimmed. Supposedly the animation did the minutes and hours rotating by works in dim mode too, but I haven't caught it yet lol.
Edit: yep, the scrolling numbers work in dim mode. So the only difference is the brightness.

Of course, I had to download the Mickey one after my buddy was like "but the iWatch has Mickey". O really???
:D

Thanks for the link to another cool watch face @jstafford1. This one is well worth the $ IMO, it will definitely be included in my normal rotation. I like that you can customize the colors, Date format, and battery like line....very cool options. I am currently running a black background with gold display colors (set to large size), no weather options, Military Time & Date formats, and my name displayed with watch battery & phone battery.

The display looks great when lit up and ambient mode IMO. It's not as bright as some others when ambient, but bright enough to see the time, even in a well lit room. This might be my new favorite. Here are some pics in ambient mode in a dark room and a well lit room.
