Aosp Liberty messaging smilies

How can I get the green android smilies back in the messing app in aosp liberty?

The only way I was able to get them was through handcent but then again I did that because I don't like the stock messager. If you want to have them through the stock app I wouldn't know sorry, just putting in my two cents.
