App purchases + 150 dollars in clothes= fraud flagged CC

Not that it's totally relavant, but if it won't scan, they can put the card in a plastic grocery type bag and run it through the machine with the bag over it. That will often allow an otherwise damaged strip to scan.

Yep, its weird and really has no explanation, but it works.

I've not had a Google Checkout purchase raise a red flag. My monthly advertising bill did though. It caused BoA to lock out my card every month the payment was processed. It is annoying to say the least, especially when you're trying to pay for your meal and your card is declined.

Well, bought a couple apps Saturday while bored at work. Sunday, I get a strange 1-800 number call that i missed. Damn fraud police (call center in India) again.

I told the lady to quit freaking flagging my card for apps! I was getting pissy, she was asking me to verify charges and I could barely understand her english. I now apparently have a note on my account that Google checkout is ok.

i have my normal credit cards (too many to be honest) but i got an extra though my bank that is a pre-paid card that i use for online/pay-pal and market purchases. im kinda anal when it comes to my credit cards so i like to have full control.

i like how its setup its a separate card but i do have the ability to transfer money from my main checking/saving/credit accounts to the prepaid account to use for purchases....

I've heard that apps from other countries set off red flags all the time. Also if the price is in euro or something, and you used your card to buy something earlier that day or relatively close to the time you purchase the app, it looks weird to the cc company and they flag it.
