I would think you would need to turn if off a certain times.
The whole point of the lock screen is not to keep people out "thats what the number code is for" but rather to keep from opening apps, calling numbers and totally screwing up things while its in your pocket because some button got pushed and it rubbing around calling your mother-in-law so she can eavesdrop on your conversation without you knowing the phone is even on!
the "swipe" button is hard to engage accidentally in your pocket.
