App uninstalled, but still in app tray

BTW the problem of screen freeze is global... Welcome to smartphone world and especially to Motorola... Get used to the bloatware and the freeze and random reboot... Rooting and installing a custom ROM is the only way out but by that you void your warranty (which by the way is not an issue since you can SBF back to "out of the box" condition)....
My Moto backflip never froze on me, and its specs are pretty weak compared to a D2(g) and it only rebooted during certain stages of the custom rom I used. Other stages/versions of the rom did not so it was something the dev had changed in the rom.

When my screen freezes, if that's what it does, I just shake it. In fact I shake for any frozen screen. Isn't that what we're supposed to do?

Where did you ever here that? Thats soemthing I have never ever heard before.

I really don't know where I heard or read that but I always remembered it. It's not shaking like a cocktail but the wrist twist kind of shake. Either it really works or my screen wasn't really frozen. When I press on something on the screen and it seems frozen I won't thump, but just give it a shake instead. Maybe I'm just not pressing hard enough.

It is the Emergency Alerts. I didn't see it in Manage Apps, because I was only looking at my downloaded apps. I realize now that short of rooting, I'll just be stuck with it.

I'm very new to the smartphone world, so it's taking some trial and error to get things situated. I change around the home screens almost daily. I'll get the hang of it soon.

I know this is off-topic, but since I seem to have a captive audience, has anyone else had problems with Droid 2 Global screen freezing? I can unfreeze by putting it to sleep and back, but some days it's extremely frequent and annoying, along with the left sliver of the screen being unresponsive. That's apparent when I try to move an icon from one home page to the left.

Thanks again for the replies. :)

The screen freezing issue is a hardware defect. It's well known, and talked about on these forums. It will continue to get worse with time. Take your phone back, ASAP and get a replacement. I just had my replaced under warranty for the same issue.

Also, you can't remove emergency alerts (or blockbuster, amazon, or most of the preinstalled crap) without being rooted, and having a small bit of technical knowledge (or a nerdy friend :))
