Apple September 9th Event Discussion

http://www.theverge.com/2015/9/9/9288273/new-apple-tv-app-store-update

^ I feel like Apple went backward with this. I must admit when the iPad first came out I praised them for having an iPad only apps while Android still had android apps stretching to work on android tablets. But as time past and Android has improved I am glad to have one app store, though there are some apps that will only work via tablet (or vice verse). I am not sure about having multiple stores. I have grown to love the Google Play idea of one place to buy apps, music, movies, and devices (though the devices have technically been moved).

Seriously? That's it? And folks are getting excited about a 12mp camera and 2GB of ram? I can see with only 16 gig internal, before os, why the excitement over a camera not becoming a memory hog with all those selfies but they're just now starting to have 2GB of RAM? I didn't pay them much attention, just assumed when Samsung , and others, jumped to 3 a while back that Apple had done so last year.
Or is it just me?

Samsung needs 3-4 gigs of RAM because of touchwiz and bloat. Apple's ios interface having all that extra RAM is not necessary (yet) and they are still able to tell carrier no to their bloat.

Apple needed more than 1GB with the release of the i6 Plus last year. Mine hasn't offered me a fluid user experience since I bought it last year.

They didn't have a choice this year with the upgraded camera. 1GB could not push it.

The A9X chip or whatever seems like a huge improvement over the A8. I've had quite a few interactions with an iPhone 6 and that thing is pretty fast, wonder if it'll be a noticeable difference with the new chip.

I like the live action cam.... but I wonder how long that extra "file" stays on phone and how much memory they will hog up

Note 4tified

The 16gig is their top selling phone. They won't kill that line off.

Agree with JK. Absolutely ridiculous. It's the top seller because it's the CHEAPEST one. Period. So you make the 32GB your cheapest one. Problem solved. Many problems solved.
If I get one more 16GB iPhone user calling me because his phone is full of apps and photos.....

...and wait... what? They ELIMINATED the 32GB? From 16 > 64?
Wow Apple.... I try not to hate you but that's just.... (and I try not to swear on this website....)
s------- um--- SKETCHY!!!!

Oh I totally agree. 16GB before the OS takes up space. Samsung has such cheap flash drives now that there isn't a single OEM out there that can justify a 16GB unit in a flagship.

Anyone else find it funny that you could only watch the event from a Mac with safari or Windows 10 with Edge? No love for chrome.

Eh, I mean at first when they announced that would be the case a few months ago I did, then I realize that majority of the people who would even bother crowding around to watch an Apple event would have a Mac and/or use Safari. Personally I'm good with waiting to see what is posted on sites like The Verge as I am interested in seeing what Apple is doing but not really concerned enough to see it live.

Besides as much as people may not have cared for Steve Jobs, it is just not the same with him not getting up there talking junk about every one else, him pulling out some gadget, and the crowd oooohing like it is the greatest thing they have ever seen and no one else came up with anything like it.
