i think rooting would b way over my head right now, i mean what if i mess something up??

Many have felt that same about rooting, including me. If you get to the point where you feel rooting may be an option for you begin reading as much as you can. Make note. If you have questions post them. Then, if you feel rooting is for you we will be here to help should you have any issues.

Yes, I rooted and crossed to the Dark Side about a month after I purchased my Droid. Rooting is not for everyone. It works for me and I have no regrets.

I purchased my Droid December 26th 2009 and rooted at the end of January 2010. The X is very solid phone. Several other mods and members of the rescue squad have X's.

I do not use Face Book or My Space but on my Droid I can filter what contacts I want to include or display (open contacts, tap menu, tap accounts, tap the account and check or uncheck the sync option).

if i tap contacts a screen will pop up asking me which contacts i want to display, i guess this is the only way to do it.

There should be a setting to include or exclude groups/accounts. I'll try to get on of the rescue squad members to assist.
