'killing' tasks/apps is bad and works against the design of Android. http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-applications/65483-task-killers-answer-google-developers.html Refresh intervals are something you can tweak to improve battery life, but 'killing' apps is actually using more battery life to restart the process every time after you 'kill' it rather than just letting it sit idle as it was designed to.
