So I bought the bionic back in November/December of last year to replace my craptastic thunderbolt, and up until about two weeks ago it was working flawlessly. Then the data started switching between 4g,3g, and no signal. My first thought was network issues due to the sudden change in how my phone was working, called verizon who checked and could only confirm a network issue in Texas, not in Colorado. They have me do a factory reset to see if that clears the issue. Nope, it helped for about two days but I still was loosing data. Then after about two days my phone decided to start dropping calls too. That is when I called VZW and had them send me a replacement under the original warranty. Initially they sent me a thunderbolt... um, no! Got that resolved and recieved my CLN replacement bionic today. I was so happy to have a new phone... for about 5 minutes. Activated it, powered it on, set up my backup assistant, and let it sit for 5 minutes. Turn the screen back on to see... no data connection what so ever! I turne on my wifi so I can start downloading apps from the play store, haha nope "cannot download due to connection errot (-101)". Data finaly comes up but switches between 4g, 3g, and no signal again. Turn of wifi to see if my data signal will hold and turn blue... nope. not for almost 45 minutes of sitting around, and dropping data again.

So I called Verizon again, still no reported outages, however they tell me I live in a "moderate coverage area". I tell the rep "Well guess the LG lucid loves moderate coverage areas because my wifes phone doesn't have data issues where we live or around the rest of Denver". Their responce... yup you guessed it... send me another bionic.

Honestly I think I'm done with this phone, I found a new still in box Nexus at a phone store for 250 with no contract renewal required. I'm pretty sure I'm buying it tonight, sorry Verizon I need a phone that works.

Similar story here. My Bionic has been rock solid for months now - until about two weeks ago. All of a sudden its going back and forth between 3G and 4G in areas that have always had a solid 4G connection. And dropping data for brief periods almost daily. I haven't loaded any new apps, and there have been no software updates to my phone. Something MUST be going on with the network. (I work in Boston and live in suburbs. Both are 4G coverage areas)

My friend have the same issues as both of you with data keep dropping and having the bsod , he got 3 replacement already so he called into vzw 2 days ago and politely addressing his issues with the motorola phones and the bionic , after talking to a few tech support they connected him to a manager that offer him a gnex/rezound/droid razr/lg spectrum as a replacement , so he took the gnex and they sending it to as i type this
They're not offering the gnex as a upgrade to him , its offered as a free replacment for his troubles with the bionic so he didnt have to lose his unlimited data
The droid razr they offer him wasn't the razr maxx
I also have the data/bsod issues with my 2 previous bionics but on this 3rd bionic i haven't have any issues at all and it been so much better after 242 ics leaks also it have a better data compare to my gnex

They tried to tell me it is the area I live in, but my wifes 4G phone (lg lucid) doesnt have any issues staying on 4g. It has to be either the phones hardware or the software conflicting with the network.

You just have to stand your point that's its the phone not the area
Also did you tell them your wife phone doesnt have the issue only your bionic

And they still try to blame the area not the phone
That sucks
My friend got it easy for him
How many time did they transfer you to?
They do have different level tech like tier 1 , tier 2 then manager
Tier 1 dont know anything try to blame area most of the time for data issues
Tier 2 tell you to data reset and wait for a few days to see if solve your issues otherwise will offer a replacement usually a bionic
Manager approve for different phone replacement

I've only made it to tier 2 so far, but yes they say even though there are no reported problems it is blamed on the area. Tomorrows phone will be CLN #2, if that one fails they will change phones, but I need one that works so I might spring for a new one on my own.

Well see what happens with your 2nd cln
As i stated my friend end up getting 2 replacement before they are willing to give him a gnex and he call them dozens of times since the have records of him calling in
Also all the tech are trained to lie all the time saying there's no reports of any issues with data , bsod , random reboots of any certain phones

Well the second replacement is much more stable. Hopefully it is a software issue that will be completely resolved come the ICS OTA.

I must've been lucky.. I never really had bad data issues.. I do live in NYC so that may help

Have you try any ics leaks?
If you want to be able to fxz back to 905 , ics leak 232 is smooth and stable ,

I had been running .232 for almost 1 1/2 months when my data issues started fxz'd back to 905 and they didn't go away. 2 replacement phones and they are still there. My wifes LG lucid is stable as all get out, stays on 4G while Im dropping data.

It doesn't matter anymore though, Im getting a nexus in a few days, I need a phone that works.

Good luck with your gnex
We're you able to get vzw replace it for you or you have to go buy one yourself
Razr M is a very nice phone too i almost bought one but they don't have the dev edition out yet

I told vzw to either let me switch since 3 different phones had the same issue, or let me out if my contract. They decided to let me switch. I decided to get away from Motorola for a bit so I went with the gnex
