I was not talking about it showing up in the market if you were rooted. Just go to the WAP store if you want to try your hand at getting it to work.

What I meant was if you have a rooted phone can you move most everything off the phone's memory and then maybe asphalt5 will work better? Or at least install for some of us.

It doesn't work that way. The game is coded to look for files in certain places. You can't just move parts of it here and there and hope for the best.


Apps2sd might get the job done, but is the game worth the price of a class 6 SD card, plus moving to a different ROM, and/or rooting and setting it up yourself?

gertman this new version in the market installs just 30 megs on the phone and 130 megs on sd card by itself. sadly this version isnt available on wap and not in all regions of the market.

its named 1.0 like our asphalt 5 but its definately another one. one guy was able to start it once. but it dont start a second time.

And you do bring up a very good point, but I guess you could move smaller apps that are all contained to the SD card, right? That way there would be more room for asphalt 5 to work.

A class 6 card is a lot faster than the class 2 card the Droid comes with. Its priced higher, as well.

I'd like to play around with the game but I'm not even gonna do the 24 hour trial when stuff is so messed up now. Not a fan of purchasing apps when 98% of all attempts have failed to work for people.

I just sent a personal message to the Gameloft tech support over at their forums asking about this other version.

I will post a response here when I get one from Gameloft.

Remember anyone interested in getting this game to work should make some noise over at Gameloft's forum so they know it's not working and people are anxiously waiting aka take some resources off of iPhone app development and fix this game for android users!!

Koush roms have App2sd. The problem is that you need a Class 6 microSD card and the one that comes with the droid is a class 2.

I haven't really ran into space issues yet, but I'd easily buy a class 6 if I needed to.
