Assigning pics from gallery as album art, this sucks.

Does anyone know how to stop the media player from assigning pictures from my gallery as album art?

I honestly don't care if I have zero album art (even correct ones), I just want to play songs without having this occur. I know about Album Art Grabber, I don't want that. Song title and band name is fine with me, I know what the albums look like and when I want to look at my pics, I'll do just that in the gallery.

Thanks in advance.

Haha my Droid did the same thing. Now a lot of my music has a picture of my car for the album art. I dont really mind because I sold that car and miss it dearly.

Sorry I cant help you figure it out.

I just checked, I opened music and looked through the songs list and didnt see my picture... How do I get to the folder another way to look? I suck at technology, but want to get better!!!

To look through the folders you'd need to plug it into your computer and browse the sdcard via My Computer or you can browse folders with the phone using a filemanager such as Astro

The folder is "albumthumbs", I deleted that folder completely and all "pics/'album art'" from it via Astro before I even started this topic.

Once I fired up a song, sure enough, the last picture in my "camera pictures" folder showed up as album art. I opened up Astro again, and there sits "albumthumbs" with said picture sitting in it.

are the pictures in the same folder as the songs that are using them as art?

As I was responding here to tell you that they were not, I double checked..and well...you rule!

There were two pics in my 'download' folder (where my songs are), both of which were the ones showing up as album art. Upon deletion (via Astro) from that folder, pics aren't showing up album art, woot!

Thanks for asking that question, it seems to be the fix. :)

Hmm.. this could be a situation if you take sexually explicit pictures.

"Oh, you have the new Rhianna song... what is that?"

Well the problem isn't taking explicit pictures. If you download a n00dz and have a song in your download folder then be careful :icon_eek:

So how/why do the pictures end up over there as album art??? I just opened up my folder for downloads and it has pictures that I have downloaded from a text or e-mail and they are in there showing up as album art...

I guess the Droid is not the greatest music player. IPhone seems to have better tools for that.
I can't replace my albumart once a jpg had been assigned. I deleted that file, added another one, named it the same thing the previous one was.....still no go.
It still shows the old albumart. There is no optins for the music player. What gives?

I just found that the art is actually saved in the ID3 tag of the file itself. I guess I have to fix that first.
