ATT strikes the droid back

I had a iphone 3gs and now a droid and have issues with checking my data speeds with speedtest app :p and I can tell u verizon speeds are faster even in the st louis area.

Out in the rural areas its no contest cause att don't have 3g coverage.

The biggest problem Droid owners face is the wide spectrum of Android see its just one iPhone/touch so when folks develop apps its will work regardless but we have to see if it will work with the hero/droid/N1 ect. I came from a IPhone I was so pissed that my phone got stolen and I was hit with ( if you want another buy a 500 iPhone I said no).

Trust ATT is the weak point with the IPhone Im still a apple fan boy lol

My daughter has AT&T and a IPhone , I asked her to do a test , she said she would but had no 3g , but I did , so I guess not a fair test . :icon_eek:
Where we live AT&T does not have 3G , but Verizon has for years . :)
Caulk one up for Verizon . :)
Thats exactly what pisses me off about ATT commericals, they say crap like we can do it both, but they never have 3G coverage, plus they sghow a map covering the whole US, but that's talk, not #g, but they neglect to say that in their commericals.

Where Verizon clearly says 3g netowrk.

Agreed with that completely. Google REALLY needs to get a hold of the marketplace. There are so many programs that perform so poorly it's ridiculous. They should have some sort of 'certification' per device/OS-version that way users could be confident in their purchases and use. As it is now it's very much 'buyer beware' and while that's okay for use early adopters that understand the development curve for such things most mainstream users will be very turned off by it. I've personally avoided 'buying' any apps right as of yet simply because of the upcoming 2.1 update. Makes no sense to pay for an app that you can't use or may have no purpose on the new update.

You haven't seen nothing yet. Wait till you see their other commercial touching on that same subject ( talking and browsing)

He's on the phone and he sets it down to look something up on the net. The webpage shows up rather quickly ( this is important ) and he passes the info onto the person on the other end.

What phone is he using? A blackberry : )

Most of us know that blackberries render pages VERY quickly.

That commercial made me chuckle.

Yeah this one is good! What a friend!!! His pal is on a "Who wants to be a Millionaire" like show and this d*&^$bag wont even stay home or use a PC/MAC. No instead he uses a "Blackberry" (known for superduper fast web browsing) 3G network. Verizon should run this same add but when it gets to the where Luke Wilson is about to give the answer have the call drop! That would be hilarious!!!

I was watching Who Wants to be a Millionaire? the other week, and that exact idea popped into my head when someone used their phone-a-friend lifeline, and they mentioned AT&T. :icon_ banana:

:icon_eek: I went to sleep on this thread, i wake up 8 hrs later and yall still going hard....I have to admit i tapped out at around 1 lol

Yes google and android is on a learning curve but they are learning quick. They will listen to the people. Look at the new delopments that has taken place so far as a result of the complaints. I can almost guarentee that if enough people complain and write google about the issue they will correct it.
Apple: people are still complaining about the apple care it is the worse insurance you can get. The droid and the iphone cost about the same....hell the att blackberries and the iphones cost about the same. And if you have an issue you can take it to the store or they will fedex you a new phone (battery) with no problems.
With apple you have to spend an hour answering trivia question about what you do with you phone, have to have $600 locked on you credit card to get a broke refurbished phone. I have called apple care on that countless of times and they do not seem to mind the inconvience even if they are getting calls on that constantly.
If you have an apple store i guess it is suppose to be better but they do not have enough apple stores around or one in my area so I have not been able to use one.
I was apple fanboy and a broke iphone (from factory) was the back of the hand knocking some sense into me.....glad it happen before I bought that macbook pro (refurbished one at that) I figure if i have to go through all that over a $600 phone......
I seen how reluctant apple is to change; nope I rather put my stock into a growing android market that has no problem evolving.

Another thing about the apps. The iphone does have a lot of nice pretty looking apps. Well thats because the apple marketplace has been around for a while. And people have been working on that a lot more than androids. I do expect to see nice looking 3d games, and other good looking apps soon. Just let people get a chance to program for android. The phone does have the hardware for it. Lets leave the software people to expose it!.. =)

They also have a lot of repeat and useless apps. Besides like I said in a previous post, that is all you can do with you phone is play with apps. And alot of the apps, especially banking apps, just take you to a website. Go to apple.com and go to app area from your computer or droid, and see how many of the "apps" you can play with.
I was watching a youtube clip of them comparing the nexus to the :iphone:. I looked at that after playing with the droid and coming off the icloud, and I realized how boring the phone looked. You have to have 100,000 apps to keep it in you hand.
With the droid I may visit the app store (market) once every three days, The iphone I was always on the app store. To each his own but i rather not be tht bored.

also.. here is the youtube link to the commercial that i was talking about.. i also put it on the first post as an edit... anyone know how to put embedded video on a comment?

Repeat - One and the same.
