[Auto] Root and Unroot for HTC Thunderbolt!

Will this method work if I am on stock tbolt now and just received the ota software update? Also, when I rooted moto droid x, I wiped it I think, so this isn't much different correct?:icon_ banana: excited to try this.

I need to know this as well. Just got.the its update and was planning on rooting this.weekend..... Tia!

I just got the OTA update yesterday and wondering what exactly it updated. The radio? It's still 2.2.1

Success on 1.13.605.7
Root complete
Yes this is an easy root, But a bit scary and you need to do just what is says on screen.

Thank you.
Now for a rom :)

Edit; loaded Bamf up.
Just unreal guys.
I know people don't want to hear it but the Thunderbolt is way better then the x.
Seems so solid and stable.
I run a task killer now just to see the difference from the x.
The difference is now I see about 250mb free all the time.
The x drops below 50 normal.
Anyway the TB rocks , the root went flawless and Bamf went flawless.
Very happy camper.

Help with TB rooting

Ok I need some help with TB rooting, I used the method on XDA 858 MB.
I ran the file it was pushed to the TB no problem there. I've been trying for days to get superuser permissions no success.

Thanks in advance...

Looks promising, I'll definitely have to check this out in about a week or so. But there is not rush because I just want to remove the bloatware and to be able to use Titanium backup, Root explorer, etc. I bought SetCPU but have no interest in overclocking the phone, it's more than fast enough for me. I'm coming from a rooted Droid that I usually overclocked up to 1.1GHz and the TB is clearly a better performer than my overclocked Droid in its stock state.

How long after "Don't freak out about the warnings" should "checking PG05img.zip pop up?

I've been waiting awhile.

Much thanks!

Hey guys so I just dropped my thunderbolt in the water and it fried my power button, my phone mic i.e. the one that lets others hear me, and cracked my screen. I have insurance on my phone but I am rooted and I assume that I need to unroot in order to have it replaced. My problem is that I distinctly remember needing to press the power button in order to root and I would expect something similar for unrooting. Is this a fully automated unroot system or is it multiple short steps? Can I use this on a MAC and will this work without pressing the power button. Thanks
