Away with new every two -

It's false advertising. They hook with the NE2 then say we're changing our policy. Perhaps a phasing out would be more appropriate? Pissing off the customers is NOT good business, just ask Sprint.

I didn't even know about NE2 when I signed up. It's definately not false advertising.

Just sign 1 yr contracts... that's what I'm doing from now on.

So long as that's still an option VZW can do what they want... they're gonna anyway :)

Martin,

That's the best option considering phones usually don't last very long anymore.

You are kidding of course. Can you explain what the NE2 is all about? It was a promotion.

As I understand, you can get phones cheaper than what the NE2 discount offered if you go thru 3rd-party retailers. If the issue is really not having that extra $30-50 off in your 20th month, try Best Buy, Wirefly, Amazon, etc... (Just be sure to read the fine print.)

I had NO CLUE what the NE2 discount was when I first signed my contract. When I was ready to upgrade, the rep said I could use my New Every 2 $100 discount. I think my response was, "Use my WHAT?" So for me, it was just a pleasant surprise. Our two Xs only set us back $600 (before MIRs, and after accessories) instead of $700. Still, a heck of a lot of money... but if you want the phone, you're going to pay for it.

And in response to this promo being "phased out", it IS being phased out. Anyone who CURRENTLY has a contract with an NE2 discount will still be able to use it. Those folks still have an existing contract.
