if you know you're not getting good reception, do you think it's better to just put your phone into airplane mode?

Airplane mode basically renders your phone useless as far as sending and receiving data, you could try changing your baseband which might give you better reception, there are four different basebands out, I tried all four of them and went with the one that gave me full 3G at work and on and off 3G at home, at home I just use Wi-Fi if it becomes an issue, at work I don't have that option. The basebands should be on the site somewhere and I know Pete has all four on his website in the Downloads section www.peteralfonso.com
