23 hours and I still have 7%. I think I got this from androidforums.com. There was a post that said something about needing this checked if you were in a Verizon dead zone but covered by Alltel?
basically what it does is put your mobile network like 3g to sleep because thats what eats your battery and it will ether reconnect when you wake the phone and sync or it will turn on and check like every 15 mins and then turn back off
I tried this .. standby battery life was MUCH better....however ... I sent some text messages, played with some apps, probably spent about 10min or so altogether doing all of that stuff and the battery life started dropping right away.
Around 1130am I had 50% battery life. I'm not sure how much the WiFi drains your battery but I was like hmmm I'm not using WiFi at work so why do I need it on. I turned it off and I've been using my phone quite a bit since then and my battery is still at 50%
before i bought the incredible i had the eris, the battery life sucked. now i have the incredible and the battery life is a little better. it would be nice if i could get a few more hours on it. ill probably try this setting, but i want to know, are any of you using google voice? i remeber un checking i think the same setting in the eris menu, but i wasnt able to receive calls or texts through google voice.

Can't speak to Google Voice but I unchecked this yesterday and sent my self a Gmail from my wife's phone and it did not come through immediately like normail. As soon as woke the phone up it came through. Not sure if it checks periodically or if it won't kick on until you wake your phone.
when u uncheck that setting I get errors in facebook it wont retrieve data...my friend said this is a new phone new technology with an old battery, just upgrade the battery...i mean kinda makes sense
Ive also discovered that live backgrounds tend to eat up battery life also. When using a live background, the battery life would be around 3-4 hours before it would have to be charged again after moderate text messaging and the brightness set to automatic (mostly in low light places where the brightness is low)
Disabling this didnt change weather updates or anything on the phone. Still getting facebook, gmail, and weather updates automatically.
took off charger at 7:30AM and its now 12:30PM with 63% use with a little web browsing and about 4-5 text messages sent/received. Yesterday it lasted until 6 when it started warning me to plug in. Guess i need to just charge the phone when im in the car until i get that extended battery from Seidio (they said 15-20% more battery life).
Google talk will disconnect and connect sporadically, just like on the Moto Droid.
The weather clock will not always update properly. It said it was sunny at 2am this morning.
