Battery life

Wow thank you very much for.taking the time, Body Bagz! Let me try and answer all of them.

1. I am on night mode, always
2. I get great signal.
3. I don't really use my wifi, should I? Because I'm afraid that if I'm not home, I will forget I have it on, and it might keep searching for wifi and drain my battery faster.
4. Widgets, only power control
5. Email sync, I think every hour.

You have the power control widget.

Then how would you forget to turn off wifi? ;)

Just throwing this out there my x had bad battery life until I found out the magnetic clasp was puting it in dock mode so it was staying on in the holster might be something to check if you use one

I don't think there's anything you can do. Every since GB my X has been getting 6-8 battery life when it used to last all day. What I do is turn off background data, powersaver on, and set brightness all the way down. It's annoying but I have to do it if I plan on using my phone when I get off work. I went to Verizon and they told me that google/motorola knew about this issue and the only thing I could do was wait for an update.

Btw, I went through two different batteries and a replacement phone and the battery is still bad. Can't be a coincidence.

Are you syncing e-mail? That can kill a battery faster than anything. I changed mine to sync manually and it almost doubled battery life.

I was actually considering buying an extended battery, now that I am having this issue. I just did a factory reset about 3 months ago, which I really hate doing...

How do I go back to froyo?

You can go back to Froyo using the links in my signature below. I am on CM7 which is a battery eating ROM and my extended battery is getting me 24+ hours on a charge.

Wow thank you very much for.taking the time, Body Bagz! Let me try and answer all of them.

1. I am on night mode, always (Ok, thats fine)
2. I get great signal. (Again, thats fine)
3. I don't really use my wifi, should I? Because I'm afraid that if I'm not home, I will forget I have it on, and it might keep searching for wifi and drain my battery faster. (This is a toss-up...when you are at home, do you have Wi-Fi available? What about when you are at work or out and about around town? If the answer is Yes to any of those, then I would suggest utilyzing the Wi-Fi when available as it is less attery intensive, and faster, than 3G Over the Air signal.)
4. Widgets, only power control. (Also fine, Widgets are great as long as they are not allowed to sync every 15 minutes and the like..4 hours is my minimum for anything that auto-syncs.)
5. Email sync, I think every hour. (See the above...unless you actually "need" to check your e-mail every hour on the hour.)

See the above in Orange for my actual replies to your individual replies...hope it will give you some more help.

For what its worth, and this isnt directed to the OP or anyone else in particular, I have been running the Original P3Droid Rooted .573 GingerBread release since the day after it was released, along with GingerJuice theme, and I consistently get 20+ hours out of my phone on a single full charge. With light use, I was working on 3 Days and 4 hours @ %15 charge over this past weekend. Not all phones are created equal...nor all batteries...nor all users...so what works for me, on my phone, with my stock battery, may in fact not work for you..but I would almost guarantee anyone on this site will see no less than 10 hours of battery use if they follow the simple little guide I use...

I wouldn't go back to FroYo, but I wouldn't stay on stock GB, either. May I suggest installing the Liberty ROM? It's probably a bit more work than what you're used to, but you'll learn a lot about your phone and be able to customize the snarf out of it (yes I said snarf!) It has much better battery life than any other ROM I've tried, including stock. I wrote very specific instructions on how to install the Liberty ROM. If you decide to go that route, see the links below.

You can find the liberty ROM here:

And you can find the instructions on how to install it here:

And you can find the Liberty ROM forum here: (you can find themes and all of the help you'll ever need concerning the ROM here)

My X is rooted and I am running Vortex custom rom. The battery life used to be awesome. Lately it has sucked. Any ideas? I have cleared cache, cleared battery stats. Tried a battery app. Deleted appear I am not using. Not sure where to go from here.

From my rooted, bricked, sbf'd, rooted again and flashed DROIDX
