Battery life?

how is your 4g connection? stable? a coworker of mine could not maintain a stable 4g connection, battery wore down instantly.. we are in the same buidling.. his 4g cut in and out all day.. hence the drain.. wondering how yours is?

I've had mine for about 4 days battery life on stock battery has been somewhat the same as it was on my Bionic but I haven't gotten to see how music affects it yet.

Stock with standard battery. Very minimal usage except for the last 3-4 hours or so. 2 hours screen on time. Always on 4G.

I did a wipe two days ago when I changed roms. I'm starting to think I just have a faulty unit. Battery drains way too quickly.

I'm kind of thinking the same for my GNex. I've done the same. I have the extended battery and still have horrible battery life. My friend with the same ROM gets much better battery life. Is it possible that it's a hardware glitch? How would that even work?

I have done multiple battery wipes, same result... Terrible Battery Life.

However, despite 5 calls to VZW Customer Service and a manager telling me a could get a BRAND NEW IN BOX replacement Nexus, when I went to the store 2 weeks ago, they refused to honor the promise I was given, saying that they would be "happy to replace your device with a brand-new RAZR, RAZR MAXX, or any other of the phones on display, but we will NOT give you a replacement Nexus, it's simply not going to happen", and when I asked if they would simply replace my battery, they said "no, we will not; it is not a battery issue... if you want a good battery life, just do what I do and don't use your phone: turn off data, and get another phone to use for phone calls and such"... at that point, I about smacked her... Could she be serious or was she messing with me?

Either way, I AM PO'd!

I know you're frustrated but I literally LOLed at that point. Wow...the reps at Verizon what else would you expect? That's just pathetic customer service.

Yeah call the phone number and report this. Hopefully you got her name. If you stay on the phone longer enough with Verizon, and keep demanding to speak to the manager, you WILL get what you want. Every time. However, I do not know if replacing your phone is going to help anything- I'm trying to decide on that myself.

I have been a customer for 12 years straight, 5 lines, unlimited talk/text/MMS on all 5, and unlimited data on 3/5 (data for the past 2.5yrs, all the rest for all 12).

I am going to tell them that the only way they can keep me as a customer is by doing one or more of the following:
- Sending me a BRAND NEW UNOPENED Galaxy Nexus DIRECT FROM SAMSUNG with the condition that I do not have to send my current one in for 10 days (postmark 10 days post-receiving new), and if the new one has the same issues, they WILL continue to send me phones until one works properly
- Offer me a $700 CASH REFUND while still getting to keep my defective device
- Negating ALL DATA CHARGES for all phones on my 5-line account for the duration of the new 2yr contract
- Allowing me to KEEP UNLIMITED EVERYTHING but only pay the price of a 1400min family plan
- Give me $200 credit towards a new phone every year for the next 12 years
- Refund my entire total amount paid over the past 12 years (just a hair under SIX FIGURES)
- Deducting 25% from any product, service, or anything else purchased from, through, via Verizon or ANY affiliated companies for the rest of my life
- Getting Scarlett Johannson to, umm, "please me" on demand

Yet, I bet the last one is the most likely to happen... :/ (not that I wouldn't be happy, that's not the point...)

What other company could get away with treating a customer who has spent close to 100,000 DOLLARS with them, the way they treat us?

Somewhere around my house I have three separate offers, one each from T-Mobile, Sprint, and AT&T, all offering to buy out my entire remaining contract, and some (can't remember which are which) offering: LIFETIME UNLIMITED DATA, 5 brand-new phones of my choice (free, up to and including their most expensive models), first 3 months of fully unlimited service on all 5 lines FREE, annual phone upgrades, and a lot more... These are from 2-3yrs ago, but not one had an expiration date, so I have something to threaten them with if I can find the papers...

That Google engineer posted somewhere (Google+ maybe) that the battery stats have nothing to do with battery life. Also, the way these batteries work there is nothing to calibrate.

The screen is a battery killer. I just streamed a netflix movie to kill off the battery after the 11 hours of standby time. During the work week, I usually get 12-15 hours with 2-3 hours screen on time, 4G on all day. This is with Samsung's extended battery.

Anybody in here a music nut?

I'm aware the screen always has a major effect on the battery but I do a lot more in the way of Screen Off / Music On. I was hoping someone would be able to chime in on what kind of battery life I would get. I get almost 8 hours straight out of my D1. Anybody as obsessed with music?

This will depend fully on what music service you're using. Google Music? If so, are you playing cached music or streaming. If you're playing local or cached music, you'll be able to play all day long. If you're streaming music, you'll only get a few hours. I use Google Music quite a bit. Most of the music I listen to has been cached by Google Music so it barely puts a dent in my battery. Screen and OS are always the major offenders with battery life.

Good to know as I just started using Google Music. When you say cached, Do you mean the "make available offline" option?
