Best buy giving 301$ gift card for bionic.

Correct me if I'm mistaken but you can't trade in your phone and get a new one if you're not up for a renewal right? So that being the case I assume everyone wanting to do this is up for a renewal?

Verizon told me the other day I can get the GNex for 299$ + a 20$ early upgrade fee.

You can get a new phone whenever you want but you will have to pay full retail price for it. So instead of paying the $300 upgrade price, they will have to pay full retail price for the new phone.

I think most of us are looking to buy it off contract at a price-matched $649 after/at the same time as trading in our Bionic's for a $300 gift card. Therefore we are still spending $350 or so to change from the Bionic to Nexus which is much easier to swallow then the whole thing plus the added bonus of not having to deal with craigslist/ebay/missing a phone for a while.

Yeah I know but there's no way I'm every paying full retail for a phone! LOL.

this isnt about getting upgrades. it's about those who want to replace their Bionic by whatever method they choose (Full retail, CL, ebay.. etc) getting the most value for the Bionic without the hassle of CL or ebay.

Now THAT makes sense. I would be happy doing that considering I can't upgrade until 2013. I just saw a lot of people with the Bionic now talking about trading and was wondering if they were paying full price or if there was something I was missing... Where do you even find this gift card from BB? Or you have to go to the store and purchase it?

The gift card is what you get when you trade in your phone at Best buy. If it were cash then most of us would have just bought the Nexus through Verizon, activated and got up and running, then just mailed in the Bionic and waited for the cash to come back.

Makes sense my man... makes sense! I'll stay tuned on how this transpires. BTW is it just for the Bionic they are taking?
