Best Buy Mobile will offer Droid Pre-orders with instant rebate

I figured the NE2 was for the primary only.

I know my we get a % off from her employers deal with VZW. ANy idea if that is for the primary only too?

I called my local Best Buy Friday and the didn't know what I was talking about when I asked about pre ordering the droid. Is it at all the stores or on line?

They told me that they would set up an appointment and call me when I signed up for my pre-order yesterday. No idea how it works beyond that since this is my first purchase through them.

I went to Best Buy today to check into what they offer, and they do offer the new every 2 from Verizon, as well as applying the rebate to the phone purchase so I wont have to deal with some stupid rebate card to come in 6 months, as well as they will have the software by Friday to do the data transfer from my old phone to my new Droid. So after talking to them today, I can say that I will be getting my new Droid at Best Buy.

I went to the BB in Homewood, IL and pre-ordered today..they asked what time i wanted to setup an appt, and i was like is it really necessary to do that and they were like not really, so ill be there at 10am friday....:icon_ lala:

I just called (800)922-0204 and got a rep,

Asked him if I was a current customer and qualified for the NE2 would I be able to go into BB and as a third party distributer be able to qualify me for it. He said yes, All BestBuys are qualified Verizion wireless resalers.. And that it wouldn't be a problem..

Or if you think you might have a problem.. Stop calling Bestbuy and call verizon tell them that you're going to BB and note your account..

Ugh, so let me get this straight. If I'm not the primary account holder I can not get the NE2 from BB? My wife is the primary but we're on staggered upgrade times and this is my year for the upgrade. I already have it pre-ordered and would like to have it in hand on Saturday instead of having to order it online.

I went to Best Buy today and had them pull up my account to make sure everything would go smooth on Friday. I am the secondary line on my wife's account and am up for my NE2 as of last week. They said their system showed that my final price would be $199 with the NE2 discount, even though I am not the primary line. No worries mate!

this may be a stupid question and may have been addressed but if i were to get the phone through best buy i remember being told that they dont offer the $50/$100 that verizon gives customers to upgrade, is this true? i could of sworn when i was orginally going to buy the strom 1 through best buy, being told that they dont offer those. i like the instant rebate, but is it worth the $50 loss

BB will give you the phone for the same price that it shows for you on the Verizon website. You should be fine.
