BEST Launcher2.apk

Yes you do need to be rooted I believe. Because you can't just install this apk like a normal apk. Or at least I don't believe you can....

Ya lol if you rename it to .apk (like im assuming you have to do to push it anyways) and just put it on the phone, click install, all that happens is the screen starts to flash and the phone reboots :P but im about to try the adb method right now

I installed through Astro and then I got FC if I select Launcher. I am on UD 6.5, so it may work better on your rom. By the way nate what is the best link or thread for installing that rom and recovery?

There is an app in the Market :p

Search "ROM Manager"

this isnt the best launcher2 if it doesnt have phone/browser shortcuts on it...period.

i'll take my launcher2 from cyanogenmod 5.0.4.1 that looks stock, but the dots are phone on the left side and browser on the right side...

so far, i cant find any reason to switch to a 2.1 rom, no matter how quick they might be...

edit - just saw he posted a new beta a few minutes ago that looks like IT has a chance at becoming the best launcher...looks like phone/text/gmail/browser all on the launcher...

money.

If you would just try the new ere25 and ese53 2.1 builds, you would know why they are so much better quality than what you have now...

i used both 25 and 53 roms, speeds nice but its not worth being too far ahead of the curve like having some things not work, some not show up in market, etc...plus no launcher2 and reboot loops after using metamorph and messing with setcpu. i'll take my problemless bb 7.6 that's set up exactly the way i like it and still benches low 150s at 1.2 GHz...

i'll be on a 2.1 rom when the rest of the android world catches up...theres no point to them now in my opinion..

See that is a major FAIL lol I honest to god don't have any of those problems...at all. I think these ROMs are absolutely perfect in every sense of the word. Like, I know for a fact, that I will never revert back to 2.0.1 now. Not after I have experienced what these ROMs offer, no way. There is nothing missing, or nothing that doesn't work like it's supposed to on my Droid. It's running the best I have ever seen it run :)

i dont see the point in the 2.1 launcher if it cant even be used in landscape without FC and lag.

with that being said, i would absolutely love one that had zero bugs.

and the 2.1 roms are lightyears ahead of the older roms, which was the reason i switched. hell im benching 150 at 900mhz on simply stunning ese53
